Banner in middle of screenq

How do I move the banner that periodically scrolls system messages across my screen ? It is smackdab in the middle of my screen - I would prefer to move it up out of the way.

Press Esc on keyboard (or the gear in lower right), go to interface settings. Then somewhere in there is soemthing that will say, remove scroll banner
