Spells saying "cooling down" when not in CD

I've noticed that when I try to cast my instants, I often get the error message "cooling down" and the spell would not cast, despite the fact that its not in CD at all. This happens very often in siege, and gets very annoying. I'd oten have to spam click my hotkeys for 3-5 seconds before it casts.

I checked my ping, and it is normal. No delays in siege either.

did you try casting the spell a couple more times to be sure? how is your ping, sometimes high ping will do this to you. also, siege may have been lagging a bit, so that could affect it.

Its an issue I often have. But I just decided to post it now because its really annoying me. I spam click fireball and all I get is "cooling down" message getting spammed back at me... even though it isn't in CD. I have no ping issues except that night a while ago.

I'd settle for siege lag, but still really annoying, deserves a complaint lol.

Happens to me often in siege and just started happening in world yesterday. The ones with the casting times work just fine, but anything instant gives me the cooldown message or doesn't work for several seconds.

Happens often and mostly either if I am silenced, next to sea washed stone... Sometimes also if I lag a bit...

And just last night had 2 toons in SW and again they did not see the same screen, being at the same place... interesting... makes you wonder what folks in other guild/server see... and how come someone casts 2 flames (not m/wd) before you can cast instant spell...

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes I don't even get the 'cooling down' message. An enemy will run past me, I have it targetted (sometimes cannot even target), pressing keys furiously... spell never casts at all. Enemy runs by, or up to me and kills me. Happens all the time, but only in siege, so can't blame it on lag. Only happens in siege, so the siege instance has the problems.

This is due to something I call "lag within the game".

The client(game on your computer) starts the command you input, the associated CD, and sends a message to the server. The server processes the message and sends info back of what is actually happening. If there is a mismatch between what the client is telling you, and what the server says is happening(which almost always happens), the client overwrites what it was reporting on your screen with the server info, but you still get shorted out of CD.

Solution: switch to macros. Find the correct wait time that does not trigger the message of "cooling down" and use that. Otherwise you will continue getting shorted on cd, and spamming the hot keys will only add more delay as the client->server->client loop gets stuck on more "cooling down" messages that should not have occured in the first place.
