Anyone Know Where Kar's Staff Drops?

we were playing a week or so ago and got a kar's staff as a drop but for the life of me can't remember where it dropped from any info is appreciated thank-you :)

It's one of the 4 mini bosses for the attunement line for Mystic Altar in Ystra Highlands.

That's Kars' Staff. Unfortunately, it doesn't say what drops it. I've seen a few of them in game, but I couldn't tell you what drops them.


On another note, about that other staff you linked, I'm not even sure if it drops off that elite. There are 3 other elites that also have rare weapons on their drop tables, according to Runesdatabase. 3 of the 4 elites drop staves, and the last one apparently drops a spear, which I don't think exists. Coupled with the fact that I've killed these elites many times trying to get the staves, with no luck, I'm not sure they really drop off those elites. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice that each of the elites is wielding the weapon that they can supposedly drop. I think these appearing on RunesDatabase is probably just a mistake, and they don't actually drop them. I'd love to see if anyone has gotten the drops though.

think it was from dorlos...or one of those quests for him or MA

figured i would be useful for once: the purple weapons off the elite minotaurs actually are all in their loot tables for the current drop tables. the drop rate is a tiny bit low though.... 0.006% for each. so by tiny i meant absurdly 'yea-thats-gonna-happen' low

i had all 4 of their cards and never saw a weapon, and those card drops were insanely low drop %...good luck!

They do in fact drop off those elites because I was in a party when I played my k/s when it dropped while we were doing the attunement for MA, so please don't tell me it doesn't drop off those elites when I know it does.

And yes the link I posted is from the same loot table, I just got a little click happy when I posted it, but both of those are from the same loot table.

There is one on AH in Reni. Maybe I can ask the seller (although not sure she farmed it or just passing it through).

I want one of those, for reasons completely unrelated to its quality or lack of being bound.

Oh, no secret. A guildie is names "Kars", so I need it to make stupid jokes at her expense. :p Making fun of guildies makes some of the more grindy parts of the game go much faster.

I doubt that a level 50 item drops from a level 36 elite (Minotaur) or a level 40 boss (Dorlos).

I think it's far more likely that this drops from one of the Binpikes.

Someone in guild looted one waaaaaay back and linked it the other day asking where it'd come from. None of us knew.

OMG none of you guys and gals know this?? Rustyx?? Rustyxpedia doesn't have this one?? ;-)

You get it in Spririt of the Tempest Heights, also known as TH. When you open the big chests that drops in there and use a golden key, there is a chance that it might drop from one of them. I've gotten about 12 of them this year.

Ah, yes, of course! I've had many a 2H sword drop from those chests & it makes sense that there's other weapons in them too but I never had any other weapon drop.

I can confirm, I also got a Kar's Staff from Tempest Heights (it was some time ago though).
Not sure if you can get it anywhere else, but as zidlef said, you can get it from a big chest in TS.

I recently(ish) got another kar staff from the ancient treasure chest marked X in tempest heights about a month ago. Before that I have not gotten one in almost 2 years from there. You will need an ancient treasure key to open the ancient treasure chest(marked X-read the cursor tooltip to see if it is an X), which are the big red(appear blue in inventory) chest that drop off the last wave in tempest heights.

Also, there are other goodies to be found in there ;)

Ancient Treasure Chest + Ancient Treasure Key = goodies/junk

Good to know. I've opened loads of those chests, but never gotten a Kar's Staff, but I know they exist, so it's only a matter of time, I suppose.

About those other staffs and spear that are apparently on the drop table of those elites, if anyone has ever seen any sign of them in-game, I'd love to hear it, but as I explained before, I have a hard time believing they exist given the circumstances. Simply saying they're just so rare that nobody ever gets them is reasonable, but not very convincing.

Darn... if it is TH, it can't really be farmed, since TH is not run-over-and-over-and-over thing. Never been in it, btw...

Doesn't seem like it is worth trying to get it, too, unless you are running TH anyway for other reasons.

Broken Axe Guard's Spear is still listed on runesdatabase as dropping from Sheren Sharp Axe. I read on the old forums, that are now deleted, that someone go it a super long time ago. I have tried without success to get it. There was also reference to another spear somewhere, but I never could track down any more info on it. The post claimed there are two spears, which are the only polearms in the game. The most solid reference I found on the gun was in korean(I think), but the page did not translate, so no idea where(if?) to get that either.

Sadly CharPlan doesnt show any spears or guns in its database, but still has categories for them, so idk if these were turned off. :(

I remember when i was farming dog tags up at the end of Weeping Coast Area before you travel into Savage Lands that a bunch of Purple Weapons dropped there. There is also a possibility that it may be able to be looted from an Ancient Treasure Chest (lvl X) from the Tempest Event that happens twice a day (needs an Ancient Treasure Key to be opened). I've had quite a handful of random Purple Weapons drop from there that i've never seen with my own eyes

As far as I know, the only purple that drops from the elite nagas in WC is the Staff of Admiration (level 50).
