strange behaviors in siege question

Ran accross some toons in siege the other night. Main toon pulling a pocket healer and an extra dps, not sure if they were using DYCE to control/automate attacks/heals from those toons. Not even sure if DYCE will do that.

But also found strange that when I looked at the main toon it always showed my toon in his focus? I looked with 2 toons and each one showed they were the one in focus(at same time). They would see my rogue in hide and would auto attack as soon as i got within range, as they were not a scout I didnt see how they could detect the rogue.

You could definitely tell it was one person running 3 toons, as 2 were on follow. You know typical follow movement, the delay then run to catch up, the way it turns/corners and occasionally gets stuck against a wall....LOL

I dont use addons for combat so curious if anyone knew what they were using or how to counter it, maybe help balance out when i run accross them again....

Curious, approx what points was the guild doing this? Interested whether I'll ever get to see it in our points range.

If the toons on follow are weak, this is just easy kills for the other side. And maybe not everyone will have the resources to fully level/gear 3 toons.

No comments on the "following toons" thing, but...

I know from past experience that if you kill a toon in siege and are close enough to the opposing guild's respawn point, that toon can remain "on focus" so long as you don't target something else, or otherwise remove the focus yourself. It may be possible to keep a Rogue "on focus" even if they go into Hide. I don't think it can be done if they use an Invis pot, Vanish or Escape (ISS) after respawning, though.

And, as I've found, "close enough" is actually a pretty good distance away from the respawn point.

first, diyce can be set up to do automatic controls. It can also be set up to follow the one input, one output only rule to remain within the T&C. But it is also possible to setup simple ingame macros to accomplish minor automatic tasks as well.

second, the focus was covered by malignatus. The same situation occurs for my wd/s targeting a player that moves under a visual illusion. Their graphic representation disappears, but my focus lock remains. I reported this awhile ago as it really should break target focus. I have also found that the close enough distance for players at rez point usually is out to the bridges connecting to the guild island. However, on occassion I had focus on buildings all the way to the opposite castle.

As for a way to counter it, your best bet is to have a secondary target engage them to take the focus off your character.

Malignatus the strange thing with the focus I was asking about is this toon was focused on multiple people, I keep a couple toons in siege, a gate healer, and my main toon and a rogue from time to time. During this siege, i had all 3 in, and when i clicked on the toon, it would show he/she was focused on the toon i was looking from, all 3 toons was showing they were the one on focus at the same time????? Hhould have screen captured....

Noblewarrior saw that thread already, just curious how to not get autohit by their 2 of 3 toons.... Wouldnt be so bad if they werent all 70-90k hp..... No one shot, no crowd control on 3....LOL

I know there's at least one addon (I don't know the name, unfortunately) that has a window which displays the focus of all three castle gates. While looking for that one, I found another, unrelated addon (not going to name it) that *appears* to be a semi-bot addon. It allows someone who is multiboxing to set focus and pass commands from the main toon through a custom channel to one or more other toons. This *might* be the addon that Charliebananas had referred to in a different thread. Those kinds of actions (multi-focus on you) might be what you observed.

It sounds a bit complicated to me, and might take some testing to get it set up the way the player wants. I've already reported it but haven't received a response yet and have no idea what might be done about it, if anything.
