Zodiac Pet:
You need to gather Wind/Fire/Earth/Water elements and have a pet crystal. The elements you need depend on the crystal but each event rewards the elements you need for the currently available pet crystal.
You need to use the arcane transmutor to 'upgrade' the elements in 3's from white to green to blue.
Once you have 3 blues, you can combine them with the crystal to make a newborn pet.
Further refinement of the elements to purple and then orange merged with the previous level of pet will reward higher level pets.

Money:

• Gold: Easily obtained by selling mob drops to NPC merchants.
  Some rarer items might sell well in the Auction House.
  
• Diamonds: Buy from Gameforge at http://us.runesofmagic.com/us/recharge-diamonds.html
  Or buy from the Auction House.
  
• Phirius Token: Daily Quests (blue markers) reward 10 of these at a time (there are a select few that reward more than 10) but you can only do 10 daily quests per day.
  
• Phirius Shell: Rewarded upon successfully completing mini-games at level 50 and above. However, mini-games cost 30 Phirius Tokens to play.
  
• Ancient Memento: These drop from bosses in instances from Heart of the Ocean and onwards.
  They can also be obtained from Public Events in Thunderhoof Hills and beyond up to Redhill Mountains.
  
• Energy of Justice: From Tergothen Bay and onwards, the Public Events reward these.
  

There are other currencies ingame, but these are the most commonly used ones.

Also, to get the pet crystal you can turn in 100 of water/wind/fire/earth elements to the zodiac pet person on Varanas bridge.
