how often

How often does ROM update? Is there a specific day set apart for it? is it every day or once a week?

  • Server Maintenance - every Tuesday for a few hours (except in some rare occasions)
  • Festivals - Every 4-5 weeks (during the above maintenance)
  • Major Content Updates - Since Chapter III these on average occur three times a year


Occasionally there may be other smaller updates or fixes, again these tend to occur during scheduled maintenance.

ok cool. the reason i ask, i have not updated since last may 2012 so it has been a year. so far it has been 6 hours of updating. haha. It is now downloading version 6.0.1.2650 and i was on 4.x.x.x.

so far it has installed 7 updates.

Ok cool, does this mean i need to uninstall the curent one i have first or if i download and run it will it overwirte the current version for me? i do not want to suck up to much hdd space by having multiple copies. What is the best method to fix my curent ROM i have?

Im not entirely sure which patch i stopped at before downloading the 6.0.0.x.x patch. I thought it was 5.0.4 but i could be wrong.

ok, gonna sound strange but if i just go to control pannel and select runes of magic and hit remove. that will accomplish the removing part correct?

ok once removed, i download said client from the url you gave me, will that allow me to downlaod and install without creating a new account? when i first started playing back in the begining of 2012, it required to register before you downloaded a new client. things have changed since then and i want to make sure i dont jack it up again.

It's always been the case that you can download the client without creating an account - you just needed to log in to the website first.

Well, i just went to add/remove programs and removed ROM and deleted the entire folder so that it has a clean install.. now its time to get the new one. All should go wel i hope. hopefully it will not take 8 hours to compete. haha.

DANG. I have not started the download yet. It will take 20 hours on my connection because i am on wifi. Looks like the pc will be visiting my parents house this weekend to be updated.

Is there any way to download the client onto my laptop, and then transfer it to a thumb drive to my desktop or does the gameforge live install it as it downloads?

I am at work for another 3 hours and if i could at least get part of it downloaded, then pause the download, turn off my laptop, head home and then resume it once i have wifi, i could finish it tonight.

I'm not sure how exactly the Gameforge Live client deals with the download & install as it made me want to redecorate my house with a pick-axe & a sledge-hammer. I used the links in the thread provided by Inferiority which you can find in my signature.

So i used the game forege live thing and it downloaded pretty dang quick, but im confused, why is the current client only updated to 5.0.5.2592 and not the current 6.0.1.x.x??

I believe a 6.0.x client may be on its' way but I don't know when it will arrive.
