Advantages to joining party

One question on my mind is: What are the advantages to join a party for the butterfly dailies? I see the auto invites and smaller groups have asked me to join them.

Butterflies are a raid daily... meaning when 1 person kills a butterfly, everyone in the vicinity gets credit.

If someone else kills a butterfly and you are around you get credit for the kill via the quest. Therefore you are not fighting over butterfly kills. *very good thing on a PVP server.

EDIT: Ycavan to fast for me.

If you don't join parties, you will miss all drama on server...

Later once you L69 and move to AKOR, flame quest works the same way, and it is much faster... :) (takes me 5 min to run it on 4 characters)

When butterfies we're heavily occupied, there was a very good advantage to joining the party. The ratio of leechers to killers was very low...like 1:10. This meant no fighting over mobs and getting the quest completed sometimes before you personally killed a butterfly.

Now-a-days, I would suggest not doing that, at least not on Reni. The party usually is hosted by someone who is hiding and leeching XP off of everyone's kills, so you're basically killing things so someone can leech the XP/TP. You can see a large group of people sitting in the hedges, leeching all the XP.

Somehow I doubt that... what XP/TP you can get this way? You can power level toon more in 5 minutes of killing mobs in higher zones.

If people still farm XP/TP this way then let them. There are many more highly efficient ways to achieve that and the longer they sit in shrubs the longer they won't find that out.

Always join parties for raid dailies. If there do be leechers, let 'em leech. But if there's at least 1 other person doing the same daily, you are still getting them done 2x faster than by yourself.

Simply, if you are in party and that durn scout shoots that butterfly you were eying before you get there you still get credit, whereas, if you are going solo, he gets the credit and you have to find another butterfly. It is even more important in the backfield, if you are doing the gargoyles and that other mob, who's name escapes me at the moment, since there are fewer of them. It's all about getting your dailies over as quickly as possible, which is easier to do in a party than in competition.
