Confirm or Cancel TOS

Hi. I played back in Chapter 1-3. Blah blah. Reinstalled today/last night.

RoM pops up with a ToS agreement and for me to Confirm or Cancel. Both buttons are highlighted (not gray).

I've scrolled the ToS, I've scrolled the ToS actually reading it, I've scrolled the ToS as if I were teaching someone how to read, and still cannot Confirm.

Any advice?

Thanks.

some other people I know have had the same problem as you, I'll try and figure out what they do to fix...

Thanks Cike. Please do let me know if you find out anything. I've let it sit for hours now and I can click both Confirm and Cancel, but nothing happens. ><

try this out just in case, right click on your runes of magic icon, select run as adminstrator... and see if that works.

if not try this, right click on your runes of magic icon, select properties, click the shortcuts tab, change Target to...

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Runes of Magic\Client.exe" NoCheckVersion

make sure it looks exactly like that, all you have to do is add this to the end of the target. NoCheckVersion

hopefully that works for you

Thanks for the response karmakarma. Unfortunately, I did try running it as Administrator and that didn't work.

Since I installed Gameforge and the game files on my D: drive, the command I entered was:

"D:\GameforgeLive\Games\GBR_eng\Runes Of Magic\Client.exe" NoCheckVersion

This didn't work. Still had the end user agreement with highlighted buttons that I can click but don't do anything. Unfortunately, I will just give it a go with reinstalling and see where that leaves me.

I did see a post with a similar problem
Can't Get Passed Agreeing To User Agreement

Where the Mentor said it could be VGA related, but my driver is up to date, and I do have OS and Hardware requirements that pass "inspection"

i didnt notice it before but you are using the gameforge live client launcher and its most likely the problem here is a way around it...
find your "runes of magic" folder and drag it to the desktop (only the folder labeled "runes of magic" and the files inside it)
then delete everything on your pc about gameforge live

then based on your version of windows you need to navigate to your program files...

**if you have the first one use it instead of the second option**

D:\Program Files(x86)
or
D:\Program Files

once you open your program files folder, grab the runes of magic folder from you desktop and drag it into the program files folder, runes of magic should now be here

D:\Program Files(x86)\Runes of Magic
or
D:\Program Files\Runes of Magic

next step is to delete the RoM icon on your desktop.... then in D:\Program Files(x86)\Runes of Magic find "client.exe" right click it and send it to your desktop as a shortcut... rename the new shortcut to whatever you want, the game might run properly now

karmakarma, I did see your post in time! However, you must be right that the files are corrupt, because same problem. ><

Thanks for the heads up Ciko, I am downloading those bin files as I type this. I'll let you all know what ends up happening.

LOL I give up for tonight.

I uninstalled and installed the manual download and waited for nothing.

Confirm and Cancel were highlighted. I scrolled to the bottom of the End User Agreement for kicks before pressing Confirm.

Didn't work.

Sometimes, the ATi/AMD graphics settings can cause problems. If you have one of these chipsets, please disable some of the more advanced features via the config software. (Catalyst?)

there is an un-official way to remove the ToS from loading but im not sure what it is, it is probably against the ToS of service to remove it however with permission from the people in charge i can find it and walk you through it. its up to them entirely.

@Staff, even if its against ToS it would be a good idea to post a way to remove it so this stops happening to people and so more people can easily play the game instead of walking away, as long as they understand the ToS that they remove is still accepted every time they log in and they are still bound to it
