Transformation Potion - Rock Guardian

So occasionally in siege I come across a character that cant be targeted. What I mean by that is I run the target macro to ignore pets and friendly npcs, to only target players, yet theres the few people I come across in siege that I cant target. I keep getting there pet every time I tab. usually by the time I lock on them, I am dead.

so is this a bug, a exploit someone is taking advantage of, a drawback to tab targeting, or the targeting macro? or, working as intended lol.

I know the exploit you're talking about... was planning to post myself after the Sale went down so that all the losers who have to exploit to win wouldn't load up on em.

Using the Transformation Potion - Rock Guardian is totally fine.
You can target via Tab or Focuslists too. And that does work. Otherwise not a single rock would have received any rewards during the Helloween event from us because the rewards were handed out via... Target.
It's kinda hard atm with the mouse, granted - and already on the way to Runewaker because of that.

Also the 20% HP effect is intended, it is just a localization issue that there is no note about it on the item. After all it is an item shop item, and buff food in the same way that a santa potion, donichuka or the gingerbread would be.

So yes, it is totally fine to stock up on it and of course, use it.

There have been times when enemy players have appeared "friendly" in which case "TargetEnemyUnit" would not end up selecting that player. As already stated, you can infact target the stone transformation players so this is in fact NOT the problem you are having. There is some other issue at hand, prevent the TargetEnemyUnit from selecting the enemy players in question.

And yes also as already stated, said transformation potion is nearly impossible to click on but this does not prevent ANY targetting.

Nice to know the hp effect is intended, I was worried about stocking up on them or not o.o

Final note, I have decided not to use this xform pot in sw unless I see enemy players using it as well. I can't speak for my team mates, but I feel it is unfair for one team to use it but not the other -- if both use it, then all is well, if neither use it all is also well :) It makes for a really fun sw due to not knowing if the rock on the side of the road is a friend or an enemy lol

the targeting issue has already been tested in Macantacht-eu. what u describe is not the case.

u CANNOT target initially the enemy with TAB, UNLESS u first use CTRL+TAB on them (sometimes 3-4 times needed).
from that time on, u can simply use TAB to target them.

it seems like is a bug and the target is considered friendly at start, but u manage to click him with ctrl+tab, it then is assumed enemy and from that time on u click him via tab. i really cannot understand the naiveness of a GM posting that "u can target via tab". no comment ...

this issue is and will become extremely annoying in sw especially vs rogues. also mages have nice advantage due to being able to rush through and keep purgatoring before enemy starts the "targeting procedure".

it is imperative that this potion is disabled in SW or arenas, as it cause alot of problems, maybe even reducing rom's poulation considering the already broken SW state.

idm about the hp bubble. it seems quite usefull in instances too for pve. but that targeting issue is NOT that simple as GM describes and i m really surprised how easy he can state false facts in forums, presented as "solutions".

[edit] i would also lke to correct that gameadmin that targeting the stoned player with mouse is not "hard", but "impossible", due to bug. there is a HUGE difference between the 2 words

cheers from eu - Fin

We have also tested this and also received a multitude of feedback that tabtargeting works fine. I was able to target people with Strg+Tab myself in a fully crowded house without flaws except for tabbing through a LOT of people because it's rather rare to have 100+ people in the house. Also tabbing enemy targets worked during the Pumpkin Menace event in the open world. What you might experience is that the range of tabbing is somewhat lower than the maximum range of a few really long range skills.
Just in case, I'll try again in the evening and may be even able to capture the very small area of it's hitbox where mousetargeting works on a screenshot (but no promises for that) - yes it's hard, but not impossible.

Still, the point stands: Yes, there is a problem with the hitbox. The problem has been passed on by us already and is or will be on its way to Runewaker real soon. The general stance of the teams and QA *currently* is that this is not as critical as other stuff going on currently, so even if RW fixes it fast, I would not exactly expect it next week. Also, disabling the potion in certain zones also needs to be done by Runewaker, so the point is, well, moot, when the better solution has to be put through via the same way. (Personal note: It's RWs decision how they do it, but why send "disable it" instead of "increase the hitbox".)

So, short: It is allowed to use it, the HP buff is intended, mousetargeting is hard but already acknowledged as a problem and should be fixed, strg+tab (friendly) works, tab works, focuslists work.

Another workaround for now, gathered from user feedback (not tested/verified by me): Using the titles from goblin game that will transform you into a goblin reportedly overwrites the appearance but not the HP buff. This may help some players who want to use it for the HP but also do not like that targeting them is harder with it on.

Since there clearly is no exploit involved here I will now close the thread.

But if you do encounter additonal problems with the potion feel free to open bug reports for it, and if you believe anything of it to be too critical an issue for the open forums, my pmbox is open, just in case. ;-)

targetable areas in red. So yes, hard. Not impossible. And as you see I still have a different target but get the mouseover and could target the rock in this state.

But, as already said, it's on RW already. :)
