Instruments

Can anyone explain to me how to get Guitar and Tambo? I've been starting to think about using them for siege, but I have never actually acquired one before.

I've seen them drop in instrument packages from CoT, but the drop rate is very low, and given how many people have it, I'm pretty sure there should be some other way. I still haven't completed the instrument quests in Logar, but those seem to be a one time quest, and not repeatable.

So, how do you get them anyway lol.

when you do quests in logar, u get recipe also...takes same mats, just need to craft another one...

Which crafting profession is it for Guitar and Tambo? And what's the fastest way to level it up? I remember trying crafting once, got to lv 7 and it took forever to get any XP -_-

I think guildie used to use an Encyclopedia or something from IS. Is that any faster?

You need carpentry, mining and woodcutting levels in 30s. Also you have to either run FA & Arcane Chamber of Sathkur for mats, or get them from AH or magic instrument bag that drops in CoT.

Once you made it, it will be sealed until you first time use it. Once used, you have only 3 days to use it.

Necropolis of Mirrors & Barren Caves also have mats inside.

I used to farm instrument mats and sell them way back then 2 years ago, so I know where to get them and the time needed. So I'll be buying all the mats needed because I'm too lazy.


The main thing is leveling Carpentry. Any tips on how to level that fast?

buy mats with Mems, or honor points. Buy runes, find someone with a lot of carpentry house furniture for fast crafting(1k house bonus = 1s crafting, instead of 5s) and since you're only going up to lvl 33, that should be more than enough. If you were going for 80+, you'd probably want xp Crafting ISS, some house bonus of your own( 1k = 100% more crafting xp) and farm a lot of mems for mats.

When leveling crafting, I'm assuming I should always try to get higher level recipes as sson as I level up. Or is the increase in XP negligible?

And how fast is leveling it with the IS encyclopedia compared to crafting? Is the encyclopedia affected by the crafting bonuses as well?

To get to L33 should not take you more then 1-2 day. Just vendor everything you make.

I went and started crafting today, it seems much faster to level than I remembered it. Ty for the responses everyone. Time to make me some instruments ^^

errr.... I didn't c it being mentioned.... but there is only 1 instrument per crafting so while guitar is from carpentry, tambourine is from tailoring, u'll have to lvl that up to 33 as well if u want to be able to make both.
