Runes of Magic is becoming more popular

Yes, I feel this game is becoming more available. I have tried every MMO out there and have not identified any game as individual as this. I've played this game since chapter I and can say, at this moment, the game is making a comeback.

Complaints about the game becoming more expensive is utter rubbish, in chapter II I can remember buying 100 diamonds and getting 1 stat on a manastone, nowadays 100 diamonds can buy you multiple stats or even gear.

With the launch of the new chapter on the horizon I am almost sure we can kick the game off again, with the right community support towards new players. On my server there is a big influx of new players starting out and feel we should encourage these players for once instead of pushing them away, lets make this game more enjoyable for us, and let new players enjoy Runes of Magic under the (much better) publisher it now has!

hmm from what i know the game has lost popularity constatly loosing both core members and having problems with low retention rate due to both internal (problems, game mechanics etc) and external factors (next gen MMOs around the corner, etc). It might be true that the game has lower cost per items but now u have to buy a lot of new items that weren't present in ch 1-2, or at least not in the CS (+7 - +16, all x runes, other items). Also back then the parity of gold was 10-30 times the one we have today, and stats were harder to aquire. U say 1 mana stone with a good stat, i presume, was 100d, fair!, but how much is a good red stat today in diamonds? I never played during ch1, but i assume that VI clean stats were very very hard to aquire comparing today's yellow.... and rariry = high price....

I praise your optimist and i hope it will materialise in the future.

I don't see how, Runes of Magic has always been an expensive game to compete at the highest level, and so has every game, free to play or not. With increasing diamond sales, it has not been very difficult to proceed in gearing. Yes, if you want the best of the best you have to pay out for that, look at any other game and there is a similar pattern, however to play the game at a normal level there is no need to pay out as much as you or other members of the community make out.

Serious question. For even the one of the top mmorpg games its 15 bucks a month. How far into gearing would 15 a month get you? Would anyone in the game be running hard mode runs for 15 a month? I wish someone had a figure on what it cost to t6 and stat all your gear. Also + it and armor drill it. And lets face it you need to have a few pieces of t7 gear to get into hm runs. If i didn't like the game i would play but to say its cheap is not true. At lest if you want to run instances. Just to quest yes its very cheap. Once you get into hm runs then you can make money and your chacter will pay for its self.

E bit offtopic: The problem is that even those subs games are going for micro transactions on top of the sub fee... wow did it.... ESO plans to do it also... not sure about GW2.

100 diamond is a great help going from level 1 to 10 but to go from 80 to 81 thousands are needed to have the same effect.

I figured it was about $80 bucks to pluss all your gear from +12 to +16. With no fails. no dia bonus. So lets say you get half priced dias thats 40. Still $40 just for 12 to 16. Now take into consideration its 12x6 in puries just to clean stat t5. 5 armor drillers. 12x5 runes for all your gear. And im sure im leaving stuff out. Thats just for your last set of gear. Transport runes, pet, house, Diamond need to be allot cheaper and more people will play. I wish i could math.

This is not true, I have played at a high level in 'Pay to play' games as you describe, I can assure you that it is far from what you are describing. To say only the prescription fee is the price is far from the actual concept. However as in any game, if you know or ask in a polite manner to people in the community I am sure they will take some of the newer players along to the instances, albeit not 'HM' instances but nobody mentioned that.

To be in the 97th percentile you have to pay, or commit to the game more so than the others, that is common sense and the same rule applies to anything. People on this game just can't grasp the fact that these people commit more than them and therefore complain about it, blaming the reason on the game being too expensive. People need to be happy playing casually (at little cost) not complaining that they can't run hard mode instances (with high costs attached), after all that is the point of hard mode instances, to challenge the most dedicated of players. If you aren't prepared to spend or commit the time, don't run those instances. On the other hand I guarantee a RoM player could run hard mode instances on $15 a month given the same time it requires to run hardcore instances on other games which can be months and months of building reputation and gearing up!

Run normal instances and pay normal amounts, gaining normal rewards
Run hard-mode instances and pay larger amounts or commit a lot of time, gaining big and maybe profitable rewards

..the choice is there, no reason to complain!

Normal beth you need to have clean stats. I can list monthly fee games that it is true all you pay is the monthly fee and you can be end game. But with those games its time. This game its money. And with the decline in population you have to spend more because there are less good players around to run with. So you have to pick up the slack. I try and pay the least amount i can to get in hm and im still working on it. The point i want to make is people who spend money are going to spend either way. But if they made the game cheaper a lot more people would play. But keeping the prices of things so high only drives people away. Once people get to 55-60 and realize how much they have to pay they quit. And that's keeping the population down.

Has this been tested? I do not know myself. It would be interesting to see what happens if we made a full group of budget-geared players (using fusion stones etc.)to test the flexibility of end-game content at this stage. Personally I could see it working if they put the time in, but we could only argue until we put it into play.

Fusion stone guys get one hit kill. Ive ran plenty of dirty stated people through instances. They cant do the dps, healing, or holding hate that's required. That is why the game needs to be cheaper. Im all for it being cheap enough so people don't have to dirty stat and adding another difficulty. It would bring more players to the game. Ive played for 4 years. And with the decline if i could go t10 armor i would so it would take a smaller group to do normal and hard mode runs. At over 100k hp and 80+k def i get killed in gc normal. With my pat at 215k on hm runs i do a small % of dps. Thats the reason it needs to be cheaper because once you get to where im talking about you will quit once you see how much it cost. And i don't think that's fair to you or other players. Not to mention if they would just see there is a market for a cheap mmo people will play. If they lowed the prices and did a little advertising this game would explode its good enough.

this whole thread is kinda funny. you can see the difference in cost by the ease at which f2p endgame is attainable. ch1/2, f2p endgame was not only viable, it was kinda easy. now, i would almost say it is simply impossible...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

Now that's just nonsense, surely? I could easily level up an alt to 82 (well, 85 now) without spending a single diamond! It won't be taking part in endgame instance runs but that wouldn't matter.

He might be referring to the IS 100k xp orb price not so long ago. I think it was 49 diamonds on 50% daily offer. But with 100k xp you get more than level 10 so I don't know.
Just have some damn fun! That's why we play games right?
