Runes of Magic US / AU

The RoM installer and patcher are extremely sensitive to interference from anti-virus & other security softwares -- the easiest option is to disable them all whilst installing and patching and then re-enable afterward, perhaps running a full scan just to be sure...

Disable all your computer protection, dance in a circle, sacrifice a virgin, conduct a blood ceremony, and maybe, just maybe, you will get to install the game. THEN, make sure you constantly repeat a prayer while it spends an hour or two patching and pray to your mother that it won't have a corrupted file. THEN, and ONLY then, may you try to log in with your account that may or may not work if you didn't change the region settings to US because they're default EU even though downloaded the US install file.

Once you finally log in, congratulations you can now play this free game! Please enjoy the scrollbanners to go buy dias. You probably should go buy dias. Go buy dias. Great sale. Go buy.

Anyway this person already said that they're not going to continue trying. Lost yet another new player; Not even because of dia prices, or faulty game mechanics, but simply to the download. Sad.

If it takes you 2-3 days to install, that is normal. And it had nothing to do with my antivirus. It doesn't download, install,and update automatically. Lots of clicking. Also, I advise you not to spend $ on this game. If you don't have the time to do it the free way, the enormity of the sum of cash it takes to get to endgame is truly mind numbing. One $99 purchase during a diamond sale is not going to make a dent in it. If there is a cheap way to do it, it hasn't been exactly obvious for this new player. Just play casually and enjoy the game, find a few people to help you out, and within 3-4 years you'll be 85/85 with decent gear (when the class cap is 105) :-D

Or you can make 15 alts and grind and spend unto infinity and get there much quicker.

I do enjoy the game though. It is seriously addictive.

I am going to brace you for what to expect:

fresh install on a fresh computer, as in no addons or anything beyond the vanilla

I would tend to agree with some people here. It's a great, fun, and addicting game to play. Personally I do hate the "whoa,that other game" comparisons but yeah its gonna happen here.

Try not to let the mix/max fever take hold of you. Enjoy the game for what it is! A great "free to play" mmo, with a in depth story line/quests.

To the argument happening here about post counts....I would find the join date more relevant.
