Egg ban ?

Our guild WB raids has been recently spoiled by some other guild and its members using Egg of Bad Intensions on our healers right before starting the combat by our tank. My question is: is it possible to ban them for it ? Or does anyone have the right to do such things to other as long as his actions are not against the game mechanics (exploits, etc.) ?

well, they are bad intentions.

that being said, the eggs have been severely nerfed, and shud not even be a problem anymore.

while banning for using the egg would not be the first time it has happened, I don't think they are exactly breaking any rules unless it is repeated enough times to the same person/people to be considered "griefing" or "harassment"
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

The egg of bad intentions buff can be removed via right click (or function CancelBuff)

Have the affected players download the german addon ASBW -- you configure a list of buffs, and the addon automatically removes them for you. This will eliminate your problems.

If you need assistance on using ASBW either ask on your respective server, or talk to Rovie on Artemis.

Yeah but I'd like to know if it's possible to ban anyone for using that item to spoil the fun of other players?

Why should they get banned?? they did an event to obtain them, maybe you should have done the same?

Should we ban players using Soulbond? healing pots? universal pots? transformation potions? come on, if you rely only on your healer in siege, well get more healers or kill faster ;-) :cookie:

There was a discussion in IRC similar to this one, involving spamming guild war on 1 single guild. If you think they are harassing you, contact a gm (fastest way is VIA IRC), and place your complaint there.

I'm sure you've done this aleady, but make it clear to the offenders that what they are doing is unwanted. If they do it multiple times after telling them it is unwanted, it becomes harassment and the ToS state that harassing players is against the rules. In that case the GM's should be able to warn the offenders. However, if they only do it once or twice it will simply be an annoying, but valid use, of the item.

However, with all that said, I'm unsure that the gm's will run to your rescue when there is a simple way around the issue (removing the buff). Previously it was not possible to remove the buff, and I'm quite certain that it was modified so players can remove it for reasons such as this.

The OP was NOT even talking about siege. They were talking about borderline grieving behavior when they're trying to run world bosses. How about you relax.

To the OP, Cike is right. If it's a constant thing, document it. Video the player/players doing it everytime they do I if its often, and submit it to the GMs for review. If its not a constant thing, then no, I doubt they'll do anything about it

Just upping your post count again I see. Nothing valid to contribute to the OP.

@OP As others have said, document it and report it. I doubt you'll get an official answer since they'd have to tell specific criteria for banning someone and they won't do that. They review what you send in and make their determinations from that.

That doesn't make sense. If we don't know the criteria for banning how could we avoid banning? o.O My question is quite simple: is it possible to prevent others from farming a WB using egg of bad intensions according to my describtion, without consequences? If you don't mind I'd really like a GM answer that question.

using this item is not against the rules,i suggest asking the offending player to stop if they do not it could be harassment.
keep in mind that harassment is against the tos and also false accusations can also be harassment.
irc is usually the fastest way to contact a GM.
and i will also warn against flaming on our forums.

There is a word for people who think that being hit with egg of bad intention is a bannable offense. I probably should not use that word on the forums, though.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

The reason they won't tell you what will get you banned is because then you'll be able to push right up to that line without going past it. If people knew what exactly they could get away with without reprisals, most would push the envelope. Not telling us basically keeps more people honest because you don't know how far you can go without being banned and most people don't want to get banned.

isopod's post is of course correct but since recent times the debuff can simply be removed by rightclicking so is it really that big of an issue?
You are not locked for a minute anymore.

If you want the fast solution and read and understood BlankMindeds post: add 503099 in asbw and be done with it. ;)

ASBW addon would be better, but the following should work

PHP Source code

1
for i=1,50 do local bname,_,count,ID,UnitBuff("player",i) if (not IDthen break elseif ID == 503099 then CancelPlayerBuff(iend end

For a long time it wasnt removeable. So at least this thread a) brought up the fact that yes, now you can click it off, and b) the correct ID for asbw for the debuff.
