Experienced Player Coming Back (Need Help ASAP)

I'm planning to make a new character on one of the US servers and I have a few questions that have not been answered anywhere else on the forums.
1) I love PvP, are the PvP servers dead and if not, which one is more popular?
2) If they aren't that populated I can play PvE, Which one of the PvE servers are the most populated on a daily basis?
3) Of the servers you listed, are the noob areas dead? I plan to play with 2 other friends and if we don't have other noobs, we can't do instances or raids :(

Thank you guys for answering. I'm on vacation and I'd like to know asap so I can get as many hours in as possible before I have to go back.

I do believe to PVP servers are about dead. That being said Gameforge has said they are looking to merge servers to get higher populations.
My sugestion is to find a PVE server to start on and level/quest untill this happens.(Probably going to be awhile) If you decide to come to PVE Osha look me up and I will invite you to my guild. We try to help new/returning players to the game. Level 7 buff towers rock for the lower levels.

Is Osha the most populated PvE server? I honestly don't want to play on a dead server. I want to see other players and be social.

No we are not most populated but every server will seem dead unless it is around siege time. This is the reason for the server merges. I only said start on a PVE because there is a higher chance to have like leveled toons to play with. It is very doable to get to level 70 in a week with the right help. All depends on time/effort you are willing to put in.

It really depends on what your expectations are tbh. If you are looking for a server that has something going on throughout the day then you will honestly be disappointed with all the servers. The current state of the game highlights around 1-2 hours a day centered around siege.

There will of course be people on during the rest of the day but not nearly as much as in the past. Long and short of it, if you are looking for something to do with some friends for an hour or so a night then pretty much any server should fit your needs. As mentioned, GF has announced they are considering server mergers so it's possible this might change depending on how long that takes to implement - if it happens at all. Roll the dice and take a chance.
