About the pet quest

I went to Miller's farm and did the quest on 3 of my toons. however, 2 of them lost the trap before they could get the cavey to go in it. now he won't trade eggs with them. also he said he guaranteed that the second pet would not be bound, but it was. my third toon not only finished the quest but also did a second one.

how do i get him to trade eggs so the other two can do the quest? naturally, he will let them retake the training but won't give another trap.

You can buy a trap fr him for 8k gold if I remember rightly

but will that finish the quest? i did buy one but promptly lost it.
