An addon allows you to do this but rom doesn't have this feature sadly.its called Vactionbars and can be obtained from curse

Easiest way to save the action bars the way you like it is to log out after you set it up for each class/combo. Set up the bars for one class/combo, log out and back in while that class/combo is still active. This goes for all class/combos you want to use.

This is how I usually save any settings having to do with action bars/skill bars etc in rom.

As Cenre said, Vactionbar is the best way to do this as the game itself does not provide this feature

I believe the commands vactionbars uses are /abar load and /abar save. Yes, having your savedvariables set to read only would cause some difficulty here.

i think he means that he tried relogging after he set up his bars without the addon, in which case savevariables being set to read only would do nothing, would be the users action file read only that would cause issues.

Make sure to go to interface settings and then to actionbar and make sure the box to lock action bar has a check in it. must do this on every toon you log in on your pc if just one isn't locked can and at some point will reset your action bars on other toons. So set action bar the way you want it then lock action bar and relog to save.

I've kept my action bars locked since I first started rom, but still on very rare occasions I'll log into a reset client/action bars, at which point I must re-tune all my addons including Vbar >.< Takes up 1/2 my day or more

My action bars use to reset randomly but havnt since I started locking action bar on ALL toons now only time they reset is if I make a new toon and forget to lock action bar before I log them out. And can't have any other clients up on pc you trying to save on because having another client on will make it not save. I took the time and brought up each toon I have 1 at a time locking action bar then relogged them to save and since havnt had action bar reset been almost 2 years now. excluding the couple of times it reset cause made a new toon and forgot to lock it before I logged them out. One more thing if you have toons on different Servers make sure Action Bar locked on All toons All servers cause for whatever reasons having a action bar not locked on one server can reset bars on different server.

Interesting. When I first started save variables was not set to read only, I had to check that box myself to stop the skillbar mayhem that completely jumbled all units including my skillbars. I assumed you were a new player with a lot of posts! Sorry for my assumption. Still really odd that you can not save the settings even after unchecking read only and doing a relog.
