Couple of Quick Questions

New-ish to RoM, have a couple questions:

1. How dependant is this game on the Cash Shop? I don't plan to PVP and I read somewhere that to PVP you need the cash shop.

2. Do you have to dual-class with your character? IE can a mage be a pure mage instead say, mage/priest?

Thanks everyone :P

PvP and instances both need cash shop in order for you to be viable. If you don't care about doing newer instances or PvP, then no you don't need cash shop.

You don't have to dual class your character, but there's really no reason not to. If you're a "pure mage", it just mean you don't get any benefits from secondary class. Having a secondary class gives you more elite skills.

  1. Like any Free-To-Play game, RoM will depend a lot on your time or money if you want to be a top-end player running all the latest instances.
However, if you're happy just in the open-world map and running lower instances, enjoying a much more relaxed and stress-free game, then the necessity to use the shop is much lower.
Much of the 'essential' shop items can be obtained for an ingame currency called Phirius Tokens.

  2. It is quite possible to play the game with only one class, but having a second class will enhance your main class.
For example, when both classes are at level 15, a Mage/Priest learns a skill called "Essence of Magic" which gives a boost to their Magic Attack power.
The only real downside of the dual class system in RoM, if that after level 50/50, it becomes slower to level the second class, but it can still be done.
(Some players even just stop levelling their second at 50.)

Ok thank you everyone for answering. I'm a free to play player and was just curious about needing the cash shop/dual class

You can buy diamonds (premium currency) from other players for gold. So if you put enough time and effort into the game you can get all the goodies in the item shop for in-game gold.

There's no reason to not have a secondary class.

Cash shop sure makes things easier for PVE imo. However, I have only played RoM for a little over a year, learn all I have not.
