Should I come back to this game?

Hey all I played this game back when it first came out and continued playing until the release of the dwarves.
If you've played (or are still playing) on Reni you might have known me as Chemicals (k/p/s), Crazzy (p/s/m) or Kerli (wd/w/s).

I was wondering if RoM is worrth putting my time into once again.

Are there still a lot of players? New players?
How's the new content?
Are there any actual veterans still playing this game?
I really enjoyed my time on RoM and im thinking of coming back but I really don't want to waste my time if it's still the same old buggy and laggy game. I hpe that you guys could give me some insight on whether or not I should make my return.

The game is pretty much the same. There are unlimited areas you will never be able to fully finish them all. New content is huge. There are wonderful events and pretty decent GMs. However all the class imbalance problems have gotten worse with every level increase and have now reached the absurd level. Unless you are one of the overpowered classes you will not be invited to play in instances. Siege is the same with all the old problems and class imbalance has made it worse.
One thing is necessary you must be in a guild. The game is designed to be played by guilds so find a good guild.
Lag isn't the problem it once was, but a couple of areas can be problemmatic.
New players is a problem. Far too many picked the wrong class to start and gave up when they found it couldn't be played enjoyably so pick your class carefully.
New leveling areas will get you very quickly to level 50. Getting to 70 isn't too hard either.

Seeing as one of your toons is wd/w, that is the top dps for endgame now. :) Siege war got buffed, so it is now impossible to kill the middle guard and honor guard without a ton of time and work. Buildings and gates cannot be killed easily anymore without scrolls and Herald torn skill or without siege engine (which also got a buff). Ch/m is an OP buff alt for the npc's in siege now. New content, new instances, harder instances, and new gear.

Overall I would recommend that you do come back. The major issue at the moment is population, but servers will be merged so it shouldn't be that much of an issue anymore. Lag, there are still some areas like Dalanis but overall it has improved. In terms of bugs, they definitely improved big time in this area. It's not as buggy as it used to be, although you might find a thing or two every new patch. Good news is that do fix it pretty quick and GMs are quite active and help out a lot.

"harder instances" hahaa it's chapter 3 all over again, except instead of scouts it's wardens. And easier yet the warden's don't need a tank or a healer, they can do all that themselves. lol

You can pick your class as wisely as you choose, but it's completely indeterminable what class will be op next cap increase, and which ones will or won't receive the nerf hammer.

As to whether or not you wanna play again, it's all up to how much you wanna put up with the game truly. It's not the best game out there, but if it's what you are looking for give it a shot, nobody will hold you to it. It's free :P...right?

Thanks a lot guys! I will probably download the game again tonight and play over the weekend then. I don't really remember my info for my account so i will probably make a new one or try to recover the old one.

Anyway, what classes do you suggest I play for tanking?

Also, what server should I play on if I do make a new account? Which has the best economy and the most active endgame guilds?

Knight/warrior or warden/warrior. Most parties will prefer knight/warrior because level 50 elite is really nice.

As far as server goes, Artemis and Reni are the most active but both of them will be merged. The rest of the servers will also be merged into Govinda so it really doesn't matter. Population for Govinda or Artemis ultimately would be very similar.

For tanking, most parties would like k/w. As for your server... if you want to stay with reni, I'd make an account on either reni or artemis. Artemis being the least likely to get messed up in the merge if any unforeseen issues arise. Now. For recovering your old account. If you still know and have access to the email you made the account on, then go to http://support.us.runesofmagic.gameforge.com and create an account there using that email asking for account recovery. If you don't have access to the email but remember the account name, you could create a support account using the email you want to get the account switched to and ask for an email change. Then, you can ask for a password change (or both at once). You'll be asked questions about the account to verify it is your account.

I would say if your willing to put some good hours into it (or a fair amount of money) then its worth it to "come back" from a long break. This is all about personal preference though and what goals you hope to attain. Do you want to be "the best" and run endgame content? If so your going to work more exceptionally hard then one who is just willing to have fun at the lower level instances with good friends. Either makes the game fun and neither are mutually exclusive with one another. I was gone for ~a year due to school and then I switched to main healer. It was fairly easy to gear a "viable" set and still run with the best dps on the server. With time I was able to acquire gear and stat accordingly. Now I would say I'm arguably one of the best healers on my server (Top 5 maybe? hehe dat Epen). It didn't happen over night though. Currently the "easiest" top dps to stat would prob be the rogue since you can use dex/pa & str/pa and get virtually the same stats. Personal preference is keyyy! :D Tank is also def a viable option...mainly I say it depends on play style.

Hope that helps! ^^

Well, well, well... this seems a familiar name.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.
