Random Soul Stab from Morfan Hard B3

Is there any reason that causes the boss to cast soul stab on everyone 2 seconds into the fight and does like 20% HP ticks? This seems to happen at random. I do recall that Soul stab is a DoT that you get after you get hit by Curse of the Soul Devourer (tha main cast), but half the time the boss just puts that on the whole raid right at the start before the cast even happens.

As far as I know the % dot comes on you when someone is too close to that pillar that bossie spawns... When no one is close to that thing in our party sometimes no one gets debuff. But most of the times the dot kills us ;) The main cast you sere on is just a real high % hit.
