trying game out quick question

So I picked this up today after surfing some MMO game sites on a new game to try out. I picked a Rogue to start and seems pretty fun for now.
I have casually worked my way to level 7 into a small town called Logas I believe. At the moment I have not encountered a soul which is rather disappointing. I understand after reading a couple post here and in the general section that the game is not in good shape. I was wondering just for my sake if I picked the right server to join and race? Maybe this map is always empty which I forgot to mention, I also went to what seems like the capital city in the second map. This place was also just only npcs and no players around.

So picked Reni as the server because it was the most populated and the other one I believe was Artemis. Are these ok servers? I think right now the game feels fun but seeing no one around makes it pretty bad for me. I usually enjoy seeing people around while adventuring. Other than that combat seems fun even though at times a little clunky. Overall pretty good game.

One more thing sometimes I see a green text message telling me to catch a pet. I am not really sure what this means because the game has yet to explain to me how to trap and catch a pet.

Reni is a nice server with good people and helpful. I play on Reni and there aren't many players in Logar since it is the starting zone, once you get to Varanas you will see more players.

For cavies you have to buy traps at the pet vendor, there is one in Logar. Lay the trap on the gorund and then guide and push it in the trap, then once trapped click it and it will drop in your bag. Have fun

Well, no players really know the populations on any of the servers and Gameforge is not telling us. That being said, they did announce a server merge that they are working on that is going to combine all the existing US servers into two. Reni and Artemis on one side, and the rest on the other. Not sure when this is going to happen though.

As for running into people, well a lot depends on the time of day. If you are wandering around in the early morning hours, well, you may see a few of the foreign residents and those people that never seem to leave the game. Busiest times seem to be the afternoons thru evenings.

I am on Govinda server, and there always appears to be a few players in Logar, standing around if nothing else, same for Varanas. I cannot speak for Reni as I have not visited there in a while.

The conventional wisdom has always been that Artemis is the most populated server. Followed by Govinda, Reni, Osha, Palenque, then the Pvp servers. But, as I stated earlier, they are not releasing population numbers. The other factor is alt characters. Since a person can have unlimited accounts, it may even be difficult for Gameforge to know how many active people there are on any given server.

Yeah I guess for now I will try out the Artemis server since you mentioned it to be a little more populated. Thank you both for the feedback :)

I am liking my Rogue so I guess I will remake it on the other servers and see the population but when I tried it was a bit to early maybe people still at work or what not. So I will try it out later on tonight and see how it goes.

Elves are likely best choice long terms, but Elven Island is a mess not at all suitable to learning the game. So, I would continue with human and then see if you rather have one of elven choices (Warden or Druid) or human (Kinight or Priest) available to you. If you want elf then, it would take a fairly short time to get to the same level as your current human toon.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

Yes, moving to artemis from reni is the best decision since reni will be merged into artemis some day, and you won't have any chance of your toon getting screwed up while being transferred. If you don't like artemis then make a toon on govinda, since govinda will be other server that the rest will get merged into.
