Recomended class & race?

So im coming back after years, i think last i played was when ToSH was just released (and no one could clear)
I played rogue/knight and then rogue/scout, loved both but i see they are not good dps.. As im gonna start from 0 i was wondering what was recomended (as for server too).

I like PDps, but i know mages are good farmers, also love tanking but i would need to spend trillions of $ and time to be usefull for parties (?), so i dunno what to play lol.
Was thinking S/P as they are good soloer and good dps..
Also read R/M is the meta Dps now
Wd/ something seems to be good too... I would love some insight as it seems the game has changed a lot.

- factible to play tank?
- wich classes are more needed for endgame dungeons?
- wich classes are the most expensive to gear?

Thanks!

I would go with r/m or w/m because how instances are looking they are going back to strat so i would pick those since they got nice sustained dmg.
Wl/m are needed they are buffers but people can honestly always use tanks k/w is best choice.
Tank isnt that expensive
Str classes are the most expensive but they are all pretty much close in price value but if you buy dias you should be good.
Solo dps on instances isnt really possible unless your doing easy or you are several lvls above that instance with god gear.

Also wd/w is good but only in burst dps so is w/s amd w/wd
best choice i would say is w/m or r/m i would pick w/m tho.

W/Wd is not "just burst".

Go Elven R/M. You can't go wrong. R/M is good in both PvE and PvP.

Then as an elf you open the option for R/Wd, S/R, S/Wd. The last one open if you buy a class expansion ticket.

Cheers.

They are needed however they along with chain classes like wardens are usually the most expensive to gear. As a k/w you must be able to survive to trash while doing enough dmg to maintain aggro. Can be done cheaply if you are with smart DPS I guess :p But rogue/mage would likely be your cheapest gearing option, unless you simply wanted to play a buffer/debuffer in dungeons to start.

a wl/m m/wl is always a great option as a first character (they dont really have much for gear requirements) also as most people love to have a capable one in the group rather an alt. Only thing with that is they aren't 'optimal' for pvp, however you can branch off to other options if you'd like, be them magical DPS... like Wl/Ch for siege, and w/m, m/w for DPS.

in terms of getting runs with the least amount of gear, your two options are buffs combos or, if you want to have /some/ gear, healers.
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

Uhhh that sounds nice.. well im trying to recover my ex rogue/scout... i hope i do, if i dont i might go down that road, to try something new and be "usefull", i love/hate DPS cus servers are flooded with em. (in FFXIV im a tank and i wait 0 minutes for partys... DPS can wait for 30 mins lol)

Thanks a lot guys :) updating now! I will still recieve advises if u wish to input something, specially about what server to play (more populated) and if there is anyone here with a guild acepting "new" players

r/s sucks now and both severs are low on population but mithras might be more populated with endgamers.
And word heals are needed to d/wrd and d/w is best option for heals and server also needs dps atm good dps.

could just flip to s/r.

either way, you aren't going to do "crap" dps, it's just that the "OP" combos are just really, well, overpowered.

All the fotm dps combos cost more or less the same amount to gear. They are all relatively expensive. But there tend to be more melee dps than mage, so you will have harder time gearing a melee dps due to competing for stats and stuff with other people. m/w tend to be easier to gear, but the down side is that you need to tier, stat, drill, rune, plus 2 complete sets of gear, so the cost ends up being the same.

Out of the viable tank combo's k/w is probably the most expensive to gear. Ch/p tend to be a lot cheaper but you kind of need to know what you are doing if want to tank on ch/p. But most wd/w can tank in dps gear on bosses, they do need to put hp and pdef on for trashes.

As for healers...ehh all healers are cheap as hell to gear, as far as pve goes anyways.

And as far as buffer/debuffers go...ehh I don't really have an opinion on it, I always take my alts for that kind of stuff.

Keep in mind that you don't have to stat your gear with the latest greatest stats to be viable.

As for class combo's you can't go wrong with M/Wl,Wl/M it's usually welcome on runs and its a dwarf...... which means..... you can dress it to look like a toddler!! lol Cover it's face and its become the cutest thing ever! Oh and you can take rogue as your 3rd so there's your R/M. tada
