Bind on equip for Hoto and lower for newbies

you all know that most people will not use an advanced unbinder on any peace of equipment that is under HoS this makes it difficult for new players to Equip themselves I think it may be time to make all instance Purple Items from HoTo and lower Bind on Equip so we can easily place them on the AH for the new players to have source of equipment

I know most people have no problem reaching level 50 extremely fast but lack equipment to join Runs, a stronger low level community will make new players more likely to stick around

I know this would be an large item Database change but it would pay off in the long run

Opinions?

hoto gear is trash, not even worth making boe lol

just run them through hos. there is no attunement, gear is 2x better then hoto. and tbh hos gear isnt even worth unbinding. (except ifur/dilany rings)

I know it isn't worth peoples time if you have a guild that can run things but for those that don't or for the new guilds i think it would help them out, remember there are some guilds that can't even run MA yet

You kind of missed the point.

OP,

I wouldn't mind if most of the gear from instances below HoS (excluding HoS, of course) was unbound & PoE.

completely agree, there is a huge gear gap for those levels. All your stats and hp basically 5x once you hit 55 and get ran through hos.

As it is thats pretty much the only choice as theres no way for newbs to run these alone or able to afford it with bind lifter prices

/agree...in fact there's a whole bunch of semi-decent gear that drops OUTSIDE of instances that should be BoE.

Honestly, I leveled Characters in the old zones and quest items with the exception of your weapon was more than good enough. Now with the Blue set you get out of CoO they made it even easier, but as far as running instances come lvl 55 your going to have it rough with the reduced pdef. There is no reason to run hoto anymore. There is an easy version of hos Get gear from there and run normal much much easier than dealing with the npc death worms in hoto.

hrm... mebbe bind-on-pickup should only apply to the 5 latest instances? ...or anything that's part of a set?

Just trying to figure out what would make developers' lives easier if we were to get bind-on-equip gear out of "older" instances.

I agree with Bakken - there is a huge gap in gear reqs. Even if you go through CoO, you'll still need to get 10k buffed (at minimum) to go through HoS and that's pretty hard to get with just quest gear or KS/Clops dungeon gear.

Personally, I'd like to see the BoE rule apply for HotO and below because it would make getting gear (from runs) and receiving it (from guildies, friends, etc) much easier for lowbies.

I like this idea. There is a handful of us in my guild who who can run, with two being able to solo, HOTO and it would be awseome if we could hand down the gear to lower guild mates. HOS and down would be the ideal start. I just don't see how they add new content and don't think to progress the bottom. What I mean is, when FA adds new content, i.e. new gear, they should make new changes to the old content, such as making HOS gear drops and lower BOE. With higher gear to get why would anyone use a AUB for lower gear. So lets do it FA, through us a bone here.

Agreed. If all purple gear under level 60 was BoE, end-game would be much more accessible for new players.

Another way might be to make an NPC that will unbind level 50 or less items
this would reduce the need to modify the item Database
I am sure this idea requires further revision.

An amazingly good idea. Which is also the reason it'll probably never be implemented ;)

But yeah, this would make gear easier to get for many people. My friend quit the game after almost hitting cap recently because he saw how expensive and hard gear is to get, this might well have made him stay in game.
Funny thing is though, there are bound pieces of gear at about level 5. Point?
