Interesting. I'll take your word for it. If the change is that drastic though, Chiron still needs to be nerfed at lower levels and improve better with gear so that the balance stays constant.
Actually, several of the wd/s elites point to you being a pure dps combo (mainly secret agreement and untameable). I understand that the warden should be different from the warrior, but the warden class really needs to have at least one primary attack skill for when it's pet dies. The pets will still do a lot of the warden's total work (especially Chiron), but the warden shouldn't be virtually helpless without a pet.
People should fear a wd/s, but unfortunately my experiences say otherwise. I'll tell you some of my real stories:
1. I was making my way to the enemy castle when I spotted an enemy player (a warrior I think). I immediately rushed him before he saw me (I was slightly higher level and we were evenly geared). Only problem is, since I was on a mount, Chiron was way behind me, and only got into the fight when I was at around 15% health. All I could do is sacrifice him to get as much out of him as possible. I still lost, but it was close.
2. I was defending a tower when a rogue player jumped me and started going to town. Chiron attempted to attack him, but since he was jumping and running around, Chiron never got him in his line of sight for a full cast. I'm not sure if it is intentional or a bug that Chiron will continue to cast but not actually fire a shot if at any time his line of sight is broken or an opponent runs past him.
3. I agreed to duel an equal level mage player. Naturally, I buffed myself and summoned Chiron. As soon as the duel started, Chiron got one-hitted, and I basically couldn't do anything.
These stories display the 3 main reasons why Chiron, and thus the wd/s, is easier to beat than it should be. Also, vamp arrows is great, but thorny vine is terrible since they updated it. Now it does less than 2/3rds the damage of vamp arrow and doesn't last as long. Frantic briar is great (despite the fact that it can be interrupted or silenced), but cross chop is kinda hard to use properly since it only hits people right in front of us.
My main problem playing as a wd/s is that it is rather boring to play as. Most of what you are doing is saving Chiron from his own stupidity (making him sit still). Other than that, you either just sit back and rotate between shot, vamp arrow, and anti-magic arrow, or run up and spam potws. Where is the variety; the complex skill rotation a la warrior or scout?
