Level 79 Seeds (Planting)

I personally really enjoy planting due to the fact that I can get materials that I use for my Blacksmithing.

However, I came across a tiny problem.

With the level 79 Ore Seeds, I noticed that when harvested you get Purple Rune Obsidian Sand (which is extremely sad.)

I was hoping to get the purple variant of Olivine.

This is level 79 seeds we are talking about, the reward should be ... the best of the best.

You give up the ability to get extra materials (and potions and planting items) in exchange for the best materials.

I concur. The level 79 seeds really provide no incentive for their use. I'm better off either running controlled production or just spitting out level 73 stuff (which sells for a good price in the AH) --- with the added bonus of extra drops at harvest time.
Perhaps the planting level cap should be raised just enough to allow for extra drops on 79 seeds... OR the mats that are dropped with 79's should be reconsidered.

I can confirm you do get olivine ingot from lvl 79 seeds, i planted many of these seeds and haev gotten an equal amount of rune ingot and olivine ingot. I do use Itemshop Pots for all my planters so not sure if thats makes a difference besides twice as much mats per harvest and a better drain rate.

one thing i do notices is that the herb lvl 79 seed drops mostly norcturnal sap and no bundles, but not a complaint just something i noticed compared to the wood and ore seed that drops the new mats in green form.

You do get planting potions from level 79 seeds. I just pulled a green luck and a blue (never had a green one... not sure they exist) speed potion 5 minuets ago.

Never had a title item drop that I can remember from a 79 though.

How about that. I got a Luck potion drop during a 79 harvest as well. Interesting. I thought your planting level had to exceed the seed level by more than 1 level for extra drops. Oh well. My bad. I have no complaints, now that I've seen potions drop from 79s.

Ya I assumed that as well when I made the post.

Planting seeds 79 for ore and wood provide purple provide 56 & 61 ores purple ...

I just wish they were not purple. :\

I haven't used any of my pots yet, so I am wondering, does the luck pot affect only the harvest from plants, or does it increase your chance of getting orange/brown items while crafting as well? The wording on the tooltip is, unsurprisingly, vague.

I thought it was primarily to raise the outcome of crafted items. I actually never even thought about it effecting my planting but I'll keep that in mind too. What I can say with certainty is that the speed potion from planting makes processing mats a bit more bearable.

Surprisingly it is not vague if you read it really hard(not sarcasm thats what i did) :P

i thought it was for harvesting better mats, until i read it a second time realized that its for rarity of crafted items. Rarity has always referred to the color of the items in RoM if you didnt know that/ or forgot like i did for that first second lol it would be difficult to understand lol :)

Just glad you posted this wouldnt want you to waste pots on the wrong craft :)

Aswel as others reading this.

Unfortunately, in RoM, words often mean something other than what you think they should... I'm assuming it'll work as it appears it should (i.e. getting better rarity on crafting), but "crafting" could include anything from harvesting plants (as I assumed due to the fact that you get the pot from planting) to pulling better stats from vendors (as suggested by Verde in another thread). Just curious what kind of experience/success people have had with the pots.

Is there any way to get blue wood and green herbs from these new seeds? I find it odd that they only offer blue herbs and green wood from them.
