Bankers vs. Housemaids

I think that bankers don't really have a role in the game as housemaids are also able to open the same storage; there should be some seperation of concerns.

I agree, oftentimes it's much more efficient to just go to a housemaid and do everything. Housemaids have vendors, bank, swap class, and access to the house. So what exactly is the use of bankers?

To act as empty space that nobody goes to besides the (currently broken) bank robbing event?

They need to make all bankers into monetary exchange vendors. Trading diamonds, rubies, shells, mems, tokens, gold, sigils, badges... whatever currency is available for your character's levels would be interchangeable to another type of currency at a predetermined, fluxuating, daily rate. Kinda like a free-flowing economy based on daily intake and output, a stock exchange if you will... oh wow... that's putting all kinds of ideas in my head... like graphed weekly rate history... playing the market & buying/selling at the right times for revenue. Break big or go bust... or just simply change whatever currency you want for a small market exchange fee.

Hmmm... that would be a whole new level of in-game auctioning... no items, just currency. Wow... meh, but that's probably thinking way outside the box, and I don't think this game has the development team to implement something like that. Pipe dreams my friends... pipe dreams...

Someone explained it to me like this. There is pretty much 1 housemaid per major zone (Except CoO, there is only 1 housemaid there in Heffner in the CoO but not in Xav, but it's because it's a speed leveling zone) and there are usually more than one bank. I don't know how true this is, just second hand info i figured i'd share.

Then why are the banks for the most part in the same places as the housemaids?

Yes there is a housemaid there, but there is no teleporter. You have to ride there from Jinners or Ruins Research camp.

With very few exceptions, bankers are only in major cities, not towns like housmaids.

bankers should have rent-based storage. so you don't have diamonds to buy bp space, so you go to the vault and store your item there.

basics:
1. it costs 1k gold to drop off an item
2. unlimited storage
3. rent for the item increases every 24 hours, starting @ 1k gold +1k gold every 24 hours
4. at any time, the player can forgo the rent and the item will be destroyed
5. after 3 months of storage, the bank will send an in-game mail saying the rent MUST be paid or the item will be deleted in 24 hours ( so the game can free up those resources )
6. rent is paid to re-acquire the item ( up to 90k gold for 3 mo's of storage )

so this could become a nice gold sink :)

I would say not unlimited storage but this is an idea that should be developed.

But there are housemaids in all the major cities so bankers are useless. Everywhere they are housemaids are already and the housemaids are also in other places. So what exactly is the purpose of bankers?

I'm glad I've sparked interest, maybe the devs will take notice!

The idea I had for bankers was take over the auction; just like a bank forecloses, they put the house up for auction. All excellent ideas for the devs to think about.

I like the currency exchange idea. For a fee (gold), you can exchange Rubies, Phirius Coins, Phirius Shells, Ancient Mementos, and Energy of Justice with each other.

I would leave out Diamonds because it's their main source of income.

Limit the number of the Rubies, Coins, and Shells that can be exchanged. Like 25 Rubies a day for 250 Mementos or something and 30k gold for each ruby exchanged.

250 Mementos + 750000 = 25 Rubies
250 Phirius Coins + 750000 = 25 Rubies

The numbers aren't ideal...I don't have a good grasp of currency value in the current market. Somebody smarter than I will decide on the exchange rates. :P

Unless Gold sellers farm DoD and do dailies or events, they can't abuse this...hopefully lol.

I love it. Sounds like a great idea.

Stockpiles of the "desired" currencies (diamonds and rubies mainly, but mentos, shells, justice coins, and pTokens could be included) are added every day to grease the cogs, so to speak. For the sake of example, 500 diamonds per server per day (week?). Limit how much of each resource an account can purchase per day. Then let the free market take it from there.

Example: Player A comes in and buys 10 diamonds at 10k a piece. Prices are influenced by demand, so they immediately increase by 10%. Player B comes in and buys 10 diamonds at 11k a piece. Etc etc until prices get high. Then the next player comes in and sells their diamonds for 55k a piece and the price drops by 10%.

They could enhance the gold sink aspect by charging a gold fee per transaction.

The limit of currency put into the game per day would have to be there to prevent huge infusions of those currencies, which would really throw the game out of whack. The limit on transactions per account would make it so more people could participate, and it would amplify the price changes based on demand.

Sounds like a fun and interesting addition to the game. Too bad the devs will never take the time to permanently put in something that would benefit the community like that.
