Guild Chat Mute

Could you guys maybe get Runewaker to code in a way for guild leadership to mute someone in guild chat? Right now the only way people can do that is to kick them from guild and sometimes that's overkill.

But sometimes people get angry and start drama, and the only thing the guild leadership can do is try and talk back or kick the person, or ask everyone to blacklist and that's too hard.

What we could do is just add a guild rank below that of new member that would have no guild chat privileges. That way we could just temporarily move the person on day 4 of an epic bender to that rank and blissful silence would prevail.

Alternatively, they could make it a right-click option in the guild list, like kick member and change rank.

I just need something like Global Mute in vent, so I can put a muzzle on people who are too angry to listen to reason and need a time out.

I don't see the point of this. If you have so little respect or if this person is so immature you don't want them talking in guild chat, they shouldn't be in your guild to begin with.

I don't like this idea at all. It's souds extremely degrading. Anyone that gets muted is just going to quit anyways, that goes for massive demotions too.

I'm always sorry when a player leaves our game, but making a forum announcement about it is...pointless.

Umm, just kick them. If you need to punish a person for talking, then maybe the guild and that person isn't compatible.

Vent is offgame and your responsibility.

If someone's creating enough of a ruckus in guild chat that you want to mute them...there's a kick function for a reason. It would be pretty rude to just hand out "guild mutes" every time a guildmate annoyed you.

I'm with MMOCowboy, it is degrading. If someone is being that big of a problem in guild you either stop reading guild chat until they settle down, or if it's that big of an issue you kick them. Muting someone seems more like avoiding a problem then resolving the actual conflict.
