Snoop Needs a Rework

Now that we effectively have three continents, I think it's about time that Snoop's transport system receives an overhaul. My suggestion is modeled after the way it is handled in Rift (yes I played it, but I'm back to RoM now).

Any Snoop in the game would be able to directly transport you to any other "known" location where another Snoop is set up. Base it off the world map where you pick the location you wish to transport and are charged an appropriate amount of gold for the service.

Currently, chaining from Varanas to Tergothen Bay takes a jump to Obsidian Stronghold where you then transport from Battle Square to Mercenary Square and run to the NPC who can transport you to Dalanis. Then it's a run outside to Snoop who then chain transports you through SJF, NJF, Limo, LoM, Redhill and finally into Tergothen Bay. Each of those transport jumps cost minimal gold, but a ton of time waiting on load screens before you can begin the next jump.

Wouldn't it be so much nicer for the players if you talked to Snoop in Varanas, picked the Tergothen Bay location on the map and were there in one jump? The only argument I can really see against this is for diamond sales in order for players to purchase transport stones. But for the F2P players who aren't going to spend the money anyway, why not make at least one non-combat aspect of the game a little easier on them.

or u can do what i do. my recall is set to redhill. if i need to go back to anywhere by varanas i use port to heffner. the cooldown for recall wich is tied to general skill transports is a tad much.

Not to mention that due to admitted memory leaks primarily occurring at zone change, the game crashes every so often anyway. Seems ridiculous to make players port five (or more) times consecutively when it does nothing but exacerbate a known problem.

But then you wouldn't buy as many transport runes :)

I also have my recall set to LoM, that way I can get to either end of the map fairly quickly by one or two ports, the transport skills give more selection, but as mentioned earlier, takes time.

I do use transport runes to get to instances or so on, but really don't see the point of making snoop so painful to use. It should be any snoop to any snoop as long as you've opened the portal.

I find it funny that you can port from Varanas to elvin Isle, or coast, but it takes too much energy for snoop to port you from Dalanis?

I always assumed that the Ailic Aides were supposed to do the transporting within zones, and snoop was supposed to go from zone to zone. That belief was destroyed in coast of opportunity when trying to get to Xaveria. Other than that, snoop always portals between adjacent zones, and why this issue was never addressed is beyond me. If anything I'd like to see that portal fixed, but yes I agree that the transporting through sjf, njf, limo, lom gets excessive as well. With Fireboot fortress being a large castle zone, there should be a direct port access from Dalanis, like there is from Varanas to Obsidian Stronghold. But then again, there should also be a guild castle manager there...
