Something is wrong with the forums

Ok this has been getting me frustrated since the forum update. I get this error saying I do not have permission to edit a post. Now this happens when I attempt to reply to one that I may ahve a question which pertains to the post I was looking at or jsut something that I want to add tot eh post. The only posts I ahve edited are my own and when i want to post to someone elses topic I press the reply button. It seems that the reply button does not always wrok correctly and redirects me (and possibly others) to tha error message saying we do not have permission to edit the post we want to reply to. Giys check into this please it is frustrating when I want to add to a post and cannot due to this bug.

Can you specify in which section or to what thread you want to reply when this happens?

Also please check if maybe the forum software logged you out while you were trying to post. (You can prevent that by activating the "Remember me" checkbox when logging in.

Thanks Dion. It has happened on several topics and most recently I was posting a reply to one and when I went to post my reply it said I had been banned from the forums. I always keep the "Remember Me" box checked due to the fact that I come here quite often. The bann came when i attempted to the thread about teh loss of population, in teh general section, and the errors jsut crop up at random times, most recent was today in this section. Not sure waht is causing the problem but I have heard of others getting the same things in world chat on Reni.

I am not sure why that could be. If you remain logged in there should be no problems. The error message is a bit misleading, it usually indicates that you appear logged out for the forum.

It could be browser related or due to old cache/cookie files. Try logging out from forums, clear cache and cookies, update your browser if needed and log back in, activating the Remember Me checkbox again. If it still continues after that, please let me know.

Again Thanks Dion. Not sure waht the problem could be but I decided to use Firefox whenever visiting here (seems much more reliable than IE). If it happens again Ill post it here in this topic.

Ok was gonna ost a reply to the topic in teh suggestion forums that is labeled "Some Questions" and got this word for word: MegaMouseSEC, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I was wondering this Dion. Do you know if the forums ahve a time limiter between posts? I know some other forums do and it would be much more effective to let people know about it than to jsut say they cannot post because they do not have permission to. Would probably save a ton of reports going to yall also.

I think the subsection Suggestions inherited the wrong right setup from Constructive Feedback. I will forward this to have it checked.

Thanks Dion you are a great help. Hopefully it is just something glitched and not trully a major problem.
