Production Should NOT be Crafting Skill

Hi, as many of you know. There can only be 1 crafting skill in the 60-80 range. Yet, Crafting requires at least 2 production skill to be as high as their crafting skill to be able to gather the mat's and craft the item. I am a lvl 68 Cook, and my gathering skills are 60 Woodcutting and 60 Herblore. I've been cooking lvl 60 mat's this entire time just to get to 70 because I cant gather the lvl 65 mat's and soon to be lvl 70 mat's due to the restrictions. How am I suppose to even cook lvl 65 and lvl 70 Food if I cant even gather the mat's not to mention process them....It really is an issue that needs to be fixed for us crafters. I do not want to make 2 more alts just to lvl their gathering/production skills to 60-80...Please in the near future, remove the production/gathering skills from the limit.

So you're saying that forum mentors/GM/CM will not forward our suggestion further the chain??

What I'm wondering is if this is something that Frogster can change (even if they want to) or it's something that only RW can change.

the reason they do this, is so that no one person can be completely independent of needing other master craftsmen. Some people choose not to craft and simply sell produced materials so that other master craftsmen can use them. That's how THEY make their money, similar to how someone who makes armor for others makes theirs. By declaring that it's not OK that you can't pick to be a master woodcutter or something, removes an integral part of the bartering system, while at the same time significantly hindering the income of a player who chose to master a production craft and forcing them to completely re-level a whole nother craft that they never wanted in the first place.

Personaly I think gathering should be completely seperate from crafting and material production. My reasoning is that I am a whore when it comes to wood, ore, and herb nodes. I just cannot pass them up. The only actual crafting I do is for guildmates who are still under lvl 30, and that is woodworking. I would like to see us able to gather anything and everything we see without it beign connected to production.

The forum supervisors might miss this thread, then we form the opinion that frogster doesn't care about us. Sometimes we have to do our own leg-work.

The problem with needing master gatherers is that if there is a shortage of such people, then there are no master producers. Even if gathering was not an exclusive profession, there would still be plenty of work for gatherers, because the material requirements increase exponentially.


What I am worried about is if Runewaker is still able or willing to support this game. I would appreciate any reassurance that this game still has some type of support, even if it is not Runewaker.
