How about an option... to be the bad guy?

Well. Maybe I WANT to help Sismond's evil little scheme succeed. Maybe there's a part of me that would enjoy laughing as a village got terrorized by a dragon I unleashed, or would like to help the humans implant runes into their bodies (instead of their gear).

Why not give us the option to not save Taborea, and instead reshape it to our own liking?

It would involve creating a separate quest line for those who don't want to spend their time running around gathering plants, killing mobs mindlessly, or talking to people two feet from the previous quest giver... but I feel as though it's worth it. Maybe not all of us want to be heroes, and would rather watch Taborea burn.

As far as instances go, they would have to be the same bosses with the same strat, just with different alignments per the npc quest givers outside the instances themselves. Evil is as evil does, and evil bosses are probably more likely to want another evil character/boss destroyed than they are to want the heroes to go down. At least IMHO.

Just something to enhance the questing experience, really.

I suggested something like this a while ago. It'd be nice to have 2 sets of nations per server. The "good" guys & the "bad" guys. Each side would have their own storylines and objectives. It would be very interesting in how the storyline is written for the "good" guys & the "bad" guys.

Expanding on this, the siege wars could be good servers vs. bad servers... as well as 2 mixed zones: 1 where both sides can come together like a neutral zone. This would be a good zone to have lvl 1-30 quests teaching ppl the how-to's of the game; and a PVP zone where mobs give good exp & drop blues+ w/ world bosses that drop the best gear/stats. The kicker would be having to fend off the other side in this zone. None of the mobs here would aggro, tho.

Personally if this were to happen i would want to see new races and new classes. put them on every server and they would fight to take down the good side! personally i think they should make almost another varanas for the bad guys and with citys make good and bad citys that if you are a good guy and go into a bad city the NPCs can kill you almost like a bad pvp player! and then yes a war zone for a pvp section in the PvE servers but you dont lose gear.

For race i think it would just be easy to use things you already have in the game, for example you can be a Naga (race) and you can be a Necromancer (class) that can raise the dead and like the warlock revive your team mates in battle or make it like the Priest/druid where it revives after battle. the necromancer would mostly be a raise the dead and take your own hp and turn it into attacks. also you can do things like the mage/rogues elite where you do damage and get hp from hurting your opponent. these attacks would not be from the same attack though because that would be counter active.

another one you could have as a race i forget the names of the guys but they are the little hooded guys that you see in silver spring in the top right corner of the map and at one of the higher lvl instances (if someone could tell me what they are called that would be lovely) and as a class you could be an Assassin almost like a rogue only less dot moves more powerful blows and they do most of their damage at the begging of the battle over time lose damage because of cds and mostly focus on the rogues move like hide only a little different.

this is just an example and i really hope this kind of thing is implanted into the game and if you see something wrong with this post please give me your feedback on things that need to be changed and just on if you like the idea thank you

What is that with the desire to be evil?

Or be the main big bad, the catalyst behind a world event that goes down in history records for years to come. :D I want to laugh and clap my hands in evil glee when something deliciously destructive or twisted gets accomplished. I want to watch the heroes squirm when my name comes up in front of them. I want to watch a lesser monster run away from me, screaming in terror and unintelligible sentences.

Why be the bad guy? Because before you get smited... evil is just plain more fun.

I would totally go for this. I think Iswan, Toni, Morrok, Jill etcetc are annoying as hell. Let's go down the path of killing them please.

No. But I have a few hints into psychological makeup of someone who is.

Who's to say the other side thinks they're evil? *shrug* Mebbe the zhuridens believe they're ressurecting their ancient gods or something. The point is to have choices... "good" vs "evil".. "left" vs. "right"... "humans" vs. "orcs" whatever :))

Villains co exist all the time. They have to in order for anything to get accomplished, usually. :D

Good and Evil are all a matter of perspective or timing. Bring out the mischevious side, lets go "evil" races/classes:mad:

I really like this suggestion, but I just don't think it will be happening anytime soon just because of the tremendous amount of work it would take to do that. Think about how many new zones and quests they would have to make, and they would have to be making all of these new zones and quests while still introducing new content for endgamers. Perhaps in a few chapters, when they decide to make a new race, the could make it a "evil" one.

I foresee a lot of broken quests though lol.

I know of a few games that have this as a feature, and with it comes full scale PvP. What I'm afraid of, were this to be implemented, are guilds 'ruling' the servers by occupying respawn points, places of monetary gain, and towns/cities.

I've played a few games where one side absolutely dominates the whole world and the minority of players are jam packed into the few safe zones while the majority reaps the benefits of having total control.

and that right there is how it was in the old whites pk drop days. if you were a noob questing in harf in those days, you couldnt turn in dailys, you couldnt get to your housemaid, couldnt do anything without some twinked red up on a roof pew pewing you. you can be evil. on my server there was a guild that was known for their pk antics. theyre not around any more. they went to pve server i hear.

If you want to be evil just play on a PvP server you can be as evil as you like and rid the world of all those pesky heros.
