To prevent enemy jumping in castle

To prevent players from jumping into the enemy castle in siege war, the terrain around the castle could be changed. The hill and trees behind the castles should be removed. The castle should be on a hill anyway and not surrounded by trees and higher ground. A moat and other enhancements would be nice, but at least fix the problem of cheaters/exploiters gaining access to castles. The terrain in the siege war battlefield has been adjusted recently, so this can be done.

Thank you for reading this suggestion.

+1 put guild castles on top of hills w/ nothing in the back except more balloons for farming.

Just wish there were more simple ways to prevent exploiting.

As every way requires someone to program it, I guess there is no 'simple' way...

this is less of a programming thing, romage :) changing terrain is the 3d graphic designer's job. Basically, they would lower the big hill behind the castles .. heck, they could even leave the trees... doesn't matter. :)

basically, the overworked programmer doesn't have to do anything here since the 3d graphic designer ( who LOVES playing w/ 3d meshes & modeling ) would be making that change.

not to be a downer, but they'd still figure out a way to either make it worse or break something else...

And why do you think removing the mountains would stop them jumping into castle? The only time I ever saw anyone jump into our castle they were doing it on the right front corner, no mountains nearby. No, not flyhacking, actually jumping up on to the balcony from teh ground. Guy was on a runedisk, he would take a short run leap up on to the balcony and then back down. He did this repeatedly while I watched...practicing I guess.

^ I've seen people trying that too. Haven't seen it actually be successful yet, but I have watched people repeatedly try to jump up there while mounted over and over.

This won't really solve the problem, because people will just use that other method to get in the castle instead without taking down gates, which is also an exploit. And trying to solve that other method is going to be very difficult, unless they force everyone to play on max view distance in SW, which would be even more horrible.

How about a cliff directly behind the castles, so anyone who goes back there will fall to their death? Or even better, a moat with a dragon protecting it?

or a big ol' hole in the ground that drops into lava where the castle is. If you run into the castle before it's loaded, you fall into the pit of despair! :)) basically, no ground under the castle model itself. Anyone trying to get into the walls falls and dies. Anyone running into the area before the castle is loaded falls and dies.

Make it so the only way into the castle is through bridges that go to the 3 gates. Basically a moat idea, but the "moat" is just a pit that's bigger than the castle model filled w/ lava.

If your v'sing a guild with upgraded walls you can actually jump in without any terrain at all. The walls around the castle have a slight 'ledge' on them, and if you jump up onto it and angle the right way towards one of the outer platforms you can get in with ease....I was told you could do it from a fellow player and the next siege v'sing upgraded walls I wanted to see if it would work...and it did >.> That was about 1.5 months ago though so not sure if they have changed anything. I do know you can still jump onto the ledge but I didn't try getting in.

Actually, this would be easy to fix, just put another terrain feature inside the wall, a trench, so that you fell down into it when passing through the wall. Or, what Ycavan said....

And he would do so legitimately! Guy hasnt been online since November :\ Was pretty neat having him bored and port me around everywhere randomly. I think he was a bit sad when they added those barriers that port you back to your recall when you go too far out of bounds.

Been in top of Varanas, under varanas (i figured that one out, det tagged along), very top of the hill south of ToSH, on top of some hill with a big tree in LoM, on the waterfall overlooking Dalanis...good stuff.
