changing terrain is the 3d graphic designer's job. Basically, they would lower the big hill behind the castles .. heck, they could even leave the trees... doesn't matter.

basically, the overworked programmer doesn't have to do anything here since the 3d graphic designer ( who LOVES playing w/ 3d meshes & modeling ) would be making that change.

This won't really solve the problem, because people will just use that other method to get in the castle instead without taking down gates, which is also an exploit. And trying to solve that other method is going to be very difficult, unless they force everyone to play on max view distance in SW, which would be even more horrible.
