Phirus Shell Weapons!

They may have made it easier for us to get geared/statted with Phirus Shell gear, but obtaining a decent weapon is very difficult. Currently the only decent weapons are rare instance drops or purchased with Ancient Mementos. If you have low dps or are under-geared you need to find a Memento farming party (a difficult task), or join a raid of a more difficult instance (such as Grafu Castle Hard) and prey for a good drop. I suggest they add Phirus Shell weapons.

If they did, I would like to see the price be 700+ shells. The weapons would also need to be along the same kind of line as the mento weapons (only from the 6 man instances, and not the most recent). Nothing would be more frustrating for everyone than to gear up, drop loads of cash on foods/buffs/ect to farm an instance for drops to sell, only to have the person not wanting to put in time or effort be able to go to the vendor and buy an equally capable weapon. There needs to be some incentive to getting into the runs. On a side note, since there already are mento weapons in the game currently, is this something that should even be considered? I doubt it.

Agreed, we already have mento farming parties. KBNE groups are not very hard to ifnd because of how easy it is. Most guilds don't even run anything except that nowadays anyway. Except maybe Bedim Easy boss 1 spams, and even that is pretty easy tank and spank.

but for when people start out unless they run with a good group they are limited to gce farming

Farm shells, buy gear, get good stats, sell good stats, buy weapon. Ta-da! Shell-sourced weapon.

why would they do shell weapons when its just as easy to get weapons using mems saved up.. ><
this is froggy they dont give two avenues to same destination

I agree with vfwiffo, if weapon is less then 1-2 instances back, it will not be worth it. as you can obtain better by getting stats and selling them...

Dear God, no!

The Weapon is the most important piece of gear you can own so it should be hard, but not impossible, to get a new & better one.

There are options already for gaining a new weapon:
- buy it unlooted
- buy it from AH
- buy it from another player
- win it in a NEED roll from an instance
- craft it

Whilst I would like to upgrade from my Puppet Queen, it is still a very good staff with which to quest.
When the time comes, my new weapon should not be easy to obtain - I should have to work my backside off to get it.
Memento farms will help; selling Phirius stats will help; gold-farming will help; level up my Carpentry.

Easy to obtain weapons already come as quest rewards and they will do reasonable damage when tiered.

Any weapons implemented as rewards from Phirius Shells should have a 1001 Shell price on them.

Yep, fix 1K shell cap as well... many times would notice I will reach cap in CoT...

As for weapons... not the latest instance level, but at least close to it.

It is getting harder to get anything from not latest and easiest instance nowdays... and it is too expensive in AH....

2 Chapenuar's chests in AH on reni, one UD, no + or stats and 45M and other one 120M, both withoutISS.... just interesting time for mid-level players...

The only really hard weapon to get is staff, because for the price of 1, you can afford 10 of any other weapons. If OP is a mage, I feel for him (back when I got my saff, mage staves costed 150m while all other weapons costed 15m - nearly made me reroll Rogue and jion the Rogues of Magic). But otherwise for most other classes, I think the difficulty of buying a KBNH weapon is not really that hard. Yoo just gotta sell 3 shell stats.

LOL, tried to get 102 dura staff for 70 mil and guess if I got it...

Not much you can do if you not in one of those guilds that runs latest instances. Grind shells, sell stats, and as ruisen has already said - if you mage, you need 10x more stats to sell to get the same level weapon as other classes.

tbh, I think the only thing the majority of the server can afford right now is crap stats lol. Nobody can sell anything, so nobody has the gold to buy anything. Anything over 5m gold, its the exact same items that were on the AH 1 month ago

That's because end gamers basically priced themselves out of selling anything. The people with gold are the same ones selling, the ones without large stockpiles are the ones needing gear, but can't afford it because prices are too high. Diamond sellers are the only ones who *might* be able to afford anything, but they are waiting for the OD stuff to be on sale and cheap. Stats are easy enough to get, that's why they are relatively low in price. It's a vicious circle that's been created that can only be broken by substantially lowering prices to get the gold flowing again, but sadly I don't see it happening for numerous reasons.

So many players that did have gold or that were willing to discount items have quit, the only ones left are the have and have nots. The haves want the have nots to buy, but the have nots don't have the gold to buy with. Who's going to be the first to break? The players or the game?

It was arbiter sold by Borella's guild... I could not (and not sure if I would if I could) get 80 mil for it without loosing ability to +it and tier it, and originally they wanted 120M. Arbiters are down to 54M in AH (did not see any cheaper ones) and those are 72-76 dura sold mostly by Heretics.

I just decided to wait on next staff as this is rip off if you ask me.

Simple math:

I can get 160 shells per day on main - meaning every 2 days I can get stat or in gold it is 2M to 8-10 mil. (depending on AH price) Let's average it in week getting 2 fails and 1 good stat, so 14M. It would take 5 weeks to get enough gold for that OD arbiter @80M.
