Why is it a hard concept to see that people are far more prone to buy diamonds when there is something they want to buy in the item shop. Last weekend there was the fail 6 person mount no one really needs and 120% because 599 was way to high a price for anyone to want to buy it otherwise. This weekend we have something we really need all the time in the AH on sale yet no diamond sale. It does not make us run out and buy diamonds at reg price. We all look and go "why the heck did they not run the dia sell this weekend" so more people would have bought them. something the company before game forge did and did well with keeping the community happy was run dia sales with big sales. I feel robbed tbh when this happens and i even said last weekend "stock up on dias abls are going to be on sale next weekend". Which I did wisely, but yeah when you run a 120% sale give people a reason to actually buy diamonds.
Agreed. I think what they intended was give a "decent" (<-- very loose use of the word there) sale without double diamonds in the hopes that it would encourage people to buy diamonds at normal price. Then during regular days, when nobody is buying diamonds, they encourage people to buy it and give a sale.
Its a typical marketing strategy taken right off the textbook, I learned it in Marketing class last year as well (no, I have no clue why I decided to choose that elective... I am not actually a marketing guy >_>), and used in quite a few markets that I've been to. For example, when's the last time you saw milk on sale (unless it was about to expire?). If nobody is buying a certain product, they'll start giving the 25% off, followed by 35% off, followed by 45% off... etc.
The only problem is, they don't realize that diamonds at regular price is just too expensive given the current costs of gearing.
