24hr Character Deletion

I went to go and delete a character of mine, thinking I could remake another and use the name I had picked out. I'm a new player, so forgive me for not knowing ahead of time. I can understand the purpose, sorta, but I don't see the reason in waiting twenty four hours. It's a lot of waiting time, and I'd like to use the name for a fresh character. Squash this feature entirely, or reduce the time to a couple of hours. I'm enjoying the game all-around, but having this design concept is... well, you know already.

most games have a delete timer, they do that for the player benefit. I get how it can be frustrating at some times. However, there have been too many angry girlfriends that have deleted characters that the players were glad to be able to recover.

The only solution that I think would even be considered on this should be maybe the ability to have an email sent to you where you can respond to some more indepth security questions for a quick deletion.

Anything besides that is not a good idea and the system should stay the same for security purposes.

i honestly think the 24 hour timer is great...i had a friend awhile ago that had his account hacked, and all the characters attempted to be deleted. needless to say, his guild notified him when he was online when he said he was on vacation, and he got in touch with a RL friend who could be trusted with his account info and could handle the situation(undeleting his chars before 24 hours was up).
