Is using spawns or drops to start or finish quests anything but a total failure?

Thread after thread goes into the problem of quests that can not be started or finished because they require killing a special spawn to start a quest or drop an item required to start or finish a quest. Some mobs won't spawn ever or it seems that way and when they do it is only on the instant after maintenance. Waiting at the spawn point are a dozen or more players all trying for the one kill that will allow them to proceed while the others all will have to the next maintenance to try again.
This is bad enough for regular quests but when they are part of the Morrok or long quest lines it is just frustrating and drives players from the game.
The long tern problems with these spawns have proved beyond any doubt that the programing to make this type of quest reliable does not exist in this game.
Not as bad but very annoying is the item that drops to start a quest on every kill even after you finish the quest if you are trying to kill the mobs for other items or other quests you have to pick up and discard the same item every kill or not have the mob respawn for an extended period .
I think that all quests that rely on an rare spawn should be eliminated and replaced with a npc to give the quest and the mob should spawn with the same frequency as any other mob. If this ends up with a boss being farmed that can be dealt with in allowing it only drop items if someone in the party has the quest open and making all the other drops from the boss bound.

What quests are we talking about here? There are very few like that, I don't think any on the main chain. Closest we had was a bugged Kulech destroyer, but that was a different situation.

Been to rage assault camp killed hundreds of all kinds of mobs and spent 10 hours one morning and early afternoon killing stuff but never got the drop. So the Morrok quest line is dead for me.

Morrok Quest line does not depend on any item drop.

Some title quests do require a drop, or talk with an NPC to get the title. Don't think any of the epic lines do though.

Morrok Quest line does not depend on any item drop.

You may be correct about it not requiring an item drop, but the last one in sarlo requires you to kill the boss in the instance. if a new zone came out and the morrok chain continued after this... all of the Au server would be stuck and no doubt... would finally leave altogether as any progress would be a challenge.

to continue the questline at rage assault camp there is many quests that bounce you between the two camps.
my question is what drop are you referring to?
and the Kulech Destroyers do spawn regularly now.
