i totally wanna see this implemented, almost as much as a pvp arena that gm's can port the spammers to, and make them auto-attack each other(after muting, ofc...)

I refuse to do it, because I dont play much anymore and besides, when is anythign done? after reporting dog meat botters and nothing being done? yeah.

Add that to the fact that the spammer probably have a lot of dia's on them wouldnt happen it would ruin the games economy because people are greedy.

...We all know that the gold spammers purchase the diamonds from the AH. I kinda like this idea. Gives great incentive to reporting them.

I fear though that it will be additional work sorting the influx of reports, and then worrying about the first X number of people to report AND then determining if they're eligible to collect. Seems like way too much work, so much that GF will likely not go for it.

What about this then....you report teh spammer, GM goes in to game, hammers spammer, drops gm food into your bag, and leaves...

How about for a new contest instead of that maybe another of those screen shot contests where the players take a screenshot of they're outfits and since it's the holloween festival the theme should be scary or maybe not outfits but just something scary and have like the top 5 most voted will win something like 100mil gold or eggrice and things since i dont know how there is any left.

Yes I did.... let me try this again. When gold spammer is banned, a new one is created pretty soon. The problem of gold spamming is not eliminated. But, the new toon usually buys the dias on AH right away and starts spamming. So, instead of gold seller sitting around on bad gold, it is pumped into circulation. Additional bad gold is bad, for inflationary reasons. And the number of diamond auctions available for purchase by actual players goes down by 2-3. That is not good for players, because more limited supply pushes prices up.

So, the problem is not better in any way, GMs/CMs have extra work, and economy suffers. Lose/lose. Till RW gets off their butts and get serious about giving tools to GF, it is better to leave them be.

If they made the level requirement to buy diamond high enough, say, level 65, it would take an unfeasible amount of gold each spam toon to level 65, and they'd spend more gold advertising than selling, making it unprofitable. Also, there probably wouldn't be anywhere near enough of XP orbs on the server to support this kind of leveling for all those goldseller toons. When XP orbs run out, no more goldsellers in world.

level restrictions are not the answer IMO...

A level requirement to BUY diamonds (BUY, not sell.) on the auction house could work. You don't really need to ever buy or use diamonds until you're fairly high level anyway. I feel like that would be a reasonable restriction.

As long as GIFTING to low level toons is not hampered by a level restriction on buying diamonds on the AH, then I could also support this idea. I hate level restrictions on things but this seems like it could work.

I only mention this because most of my new "I intend to keep and level and use these" toons get a perm mount when they get to be level 10-15, after Varanas. I'd hate for that to be restricted by this.

Yes except we all know that's not going to happen so we're looking for alternative options, like getting rid of the need to report them in world chat whatsoever.

Yes I agree. I wouldn't suggest that gifting be hampered, cause most people are smart enough not to gift or sell to a goldspammer. The restriction should only affect the auction house.

Therefore. your point Borella, is moot. When I started, dias were in AH at a mere 1 to 2K per. You can't possibly assert that there will never be a level restriction on buying diamonds from the AH. You're not an employee of GF or of Runewaker, therefore you have no more clue than anyone else what they might do. Hell, we lived for years without diamonds in the AH, waiting till level 60 or 65 would be far from the end of the world.

If you were reading the thread and using your reading comprehension skills you would realize that if a level restriction of say, 60 were put in to buy diamonds from the auction house, it wouldn't be possible for gold spammers to "just buy xp orbs". There's not enough xp orbs in the game to get a character to level 60 over and over and over again. I doubt there's even enough in the AH to get one to level 60.

And since gifting would still be an option, there would still be ways for legit players to get item shop items before level 60. Although if you even half ass it you can get to 60 in a few days and you get a couple weeks of free mounts from levelling bags so, again, you really don't need AH dias until above that level anyway.

Your last point is moot. Obviously spammer gold is getting into the economy anyway because they're buying diamonds from the AH. They're pumping MUCH more gold into the game right now by buying diamonds from the AH than they ever would by buying xp orbs, considering making them buy xp orbs would most likely just run them out of the game completely.

So yes, I do still want a level restriction. It is by far the most superior option. It wouldn't affect GF whatsoever, and if anything it would be positive for them because people would have to buy diamonds with no option of just buying cheap gold.
