I wonder how things would be if PoM's were only guaranteed to toons around the appropriate level of the world boss? So, a world boss dies and drops stuff from his/her corpse BUT also drops bags on the ground that are keyed to individual players.

ie, a lvl 75 world boss would hand out 1 PoM to every toon in the raid that was +/- 3 levels? so lvl 72-lvl 78.

a lvl 80 world boss would hand out 1 PoM to every toon in the raid that was between levels 77 and 83.

Every 3 levels out, there's a -20% chance of getting a PoM bag...

so.. a lvl 75 world boss is killed & you are a lvl 71 or lvl 79 toon, you would get a bag 80% of the time... someone lvl 68-70/80-82 would have an 60% chance of getting PoMs... someone 65-67/83-85 would have 40% chance.

Something to think about?

This is already in effect. If a lv 72 player kills Hackman they will get 15 POM. If a lv 85 player kills Hackman he will get 5.

The amount of POM given is decided by boss and highest lvl of someone in the party. If a party of lv 70 players kill Hackman with 1 lvl 85 player only 5 POM will appear.

Also about POM only being able to be farmed by endgame guilds. There is nothing wrong with this, It gives incentive to get better or be better. If there fewer rewards for being endgame, fewer people will be endgame.

I'm talking about individual bags w/ the PoMs in 'em, like bag drops in Chrysalia on up.

Right now, it's just skewed wrong. I'm suggesting giving everyone in the raid @ level their own bags. People @ level ( +/- 3 levels of the boss ) are guaranteed bags; everyone else has diminishing returns on bag possibility.

I see what your saying, Not a bad idea, at least that guarantees everyone in the party proofs and we don't have to do the roll/sharing thing. For your idea to work you would have to cap party size to avoid abuse. So proofs will only be awarded for parties of 12 or lower so that people don't bring 17 alts to get more POM

I like the idea of putting the poms in a daily dungeon. Keep the bosses the same with the same raid mechanics if you want, but that way everyone of high enough ability can have a shot at a pom (or 5 depending on how they divide loot) per day and the daily grief between disrupters who try and wipe others' attempts and guilds who perpetually camp will be forever ended. Likewise servers like Osha won't continue to be unfairly penalized by this one channel joke that it is.

Jus a thought, how bout a dungeon choice at the start, like RT, where yer can choose POMs or gear ter dropper. Course, the amount o POM's hast ter be kept low, but it done might alleviate most o the current POM issues, whilest still keepin POMs rarer than a beauty on a pirate ship. Maybers makin the bosses harder fer more POMs, or somethin like that.

Still think we should just remove poms and hardmode world bosses from the game. Still easily the worst decision ever made.

Indeed. POM's were never a good idea. Same with orange stats.

orange stats have been around since DL, and they are fine. THey drop naturally off the last boss in hard mode dungeons. That is the only place they should come from.
POMs, world bosses, and that set of gear was a mistake

Orange stats weren't that good until recently though.

orange stats were better when they had 3 stats IMO...the new trend of super-OP 2 stat stats is pointless...

also, making stats occur less frequently would actually benefit the game more IMO(I.e. don't have 3 different names with the exact same attributes). either u can use 1 of each stat combo from the previous 3 caps, or u can mix it up a bit and use more recent stats...as it stands, u can pretty much have "perfect" gear with almost 100% the latest cap's stats...that way older stats would not go as obsolete as fast, and would allow easier gearing if only 2 stats on a piece came from the latest instance/pulls, the rest would be cheaper or easier to obtain.
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

I disagree, I was really happy to see POM put in the game. At first they were too strong but they have mellowed out. But POM really helped my guild get geared and able to run current HM instances. Before POM all gear flowed through a different guild on the server that wasn't so keen on sharing.

Darwec yes orange stats have been around since DL. But they used to have 3 average stats rather then 2 op stats. The orange stats are 2 "levels" above the current yellow stats yes it gives more variety in how you stat and I use them myself, however I still think they were a bad idea. Not even every stat has an orange version which gimps certain classes. POM's unbalanced the economy even more then it already was and personally I can't see how it was a good thing. Currently the world bosses on our server are camped so much you can't even kill a normal mode boss for quests or titles. They may as well give everyone the title or auto complete the quest cause currently it just doesn't work. If they want to add new bosses like taren and kolanda etc that give proofs sure but they should change the system imo so that proofs are distrubuted throughout the party like mems are.
And mrpushpop you are right in the fact that pom gear has helped people. But imo people are relying too much on it. People think they NEED it to be endgame which just simply isn't true. Currently the new crafted cape and legs are almost on parr with the level 75 world boss legs and cape. Anyway rant over and imo I wouldn't be dissapointed if they removed POM's all together :D

I wouldn't now because I hardly use the gear anymore. But at Lvl 75 it really helped Indigo. At lvl 75 our server had not cleared Grafu, Tosh, AC. Since then we have cleared Tosh, Grafu, not sure about AC - no one runs it, Beth, Grotto (working on Bethomia). Even though most of us now wear Beth sets, POM helped our guild. I am not saying it is the only reason because it is not. I am sure POM on larger servers are hard to obtain. On Indigo there were world shouts for Spider Priestess yesterday. I hope people at least shout out that its dead so people can get their elites on other servers.

Im not making the claim that you should get orange stats off proof gear. Proof gear shouldet even exist.

I think that even though orange stats are 2 lvls higher than the equivalent heros, as long as they only come from the last boss of the hardmode version of their dungeons it would be fine. We should also return to the hardmode followed by normal mode followed by hard mode structure for instance releases. That way we get:
orange hard mode stats.
only yellow stats
orange hard mode stats...

there is no class combination that is gimped by orange stats. Healers can use stam/wis stam/hp orange stats (also heals are just super overpowered as it is). Tanks can use stam/pa stam/hp. Dps get stam/int stam/pa dex/pa str/pa. the only semi acceptable stats that dont have orange versions are stam/def wis/hp and wis/def, which you can still be pleanty over powered without. The stats themselves dont break anything. Its how they are acquired that is ruining low-mid game play.

It doesn't but it makes the jump from midgame to end game massive.

BIg thing for me is that there are almost no mage gear with crit/attack both on them. However, two of them Lava Rage and Dust fury shoulders are only able to be gotten from PoMs. If there was other items that had both, I wouldn't care... even if they weren't as good. But however, there aren't that I know of. The stats are pretty much a secondary to me.

Whats up with that by the way. Not sure why we mage's cant get some new crit gear. 10 lvls old now.

Sorta does suck that the best gear build for a mage is EVERY pom piece minus the neck and earring...... healers are pretty similar too though at least they can now use Mem items in place of the 3 piece from poms. For physical dps the best sets are those from instances, shouldn't even have pom pieces anymore as a physical dps besides Maze Walls and Outside Codex.
