Here is the unofficial answer.

There is a "regular price" for the ABLs. But we normally can't see it, because the only promotion that they are sold at is the "Infernal Trio" one, and that is a discounted price. In other words, when they are sold in "Infernal Trio", they are both *for* sale and *on* sale.

This means today we lose the normal "infernal trio" discount, but we gain 50% off discount. So it won't be 50% of the 69 dias, it will be 50% of regular "not sold at" price of 99, or 49 dias.

P.S. This was already confirmed with our undercover Aussie spy Beren.

They have sold them for 69 diamonds individually before, so why is it not off that price still makes no sense to me. You say there is a "regular" price of 99 dias, but as you also said, we never see that, so at that point, saying that is the regular price makes about as much sense as a quadriplegic asking Santa for a bicycle. It just makes no sense at all. In order to claim something is a sale price or a normal price, it needs to be on sale all the time. "69 diamonds is on "sale""...sale from WHAT?! So, it's not really 50% off, its basically 29% off, which I'm ok with, and I'm going to buy some, just wish it was more honest of an advertisement.

Edit: There was a time that when we saw an ABL, it was 79 dias. The price of "99 dias" for an ABL become the price, was when they (FA) put ABL in the IS on a permanent basis. Now that we don't have them in the IS on a perm basis, we are back to the former, in which 69 becomes the "normal" price these days. Thus, this is a 28.985% reduction in price (29%). As I said before, and now have done so, I bought 20 of them for myself, and 3 for a guildie who is offline and has no diams right now. Good price overall, just a misnomer in the % reduction of the sale.

ABL's are normally on sale for 69 diamonds but that's already with a 30% saving - see the previous promo details!
Hence, the regular price is 69/7*10 = 99 diamonds (rounded).

Hey, Inferiority - see what I did there? Some MATHEMATICS!! Are you proud of me?

For anyone that might not understand Yrcanos's math here is another way to show the same thing...

69 ÷ 0.70 = 99 (rounded up from 98.5)

In other words....

Non-Sale price = 99 dias
On-Sale price = 69 dias

Happy Hour Sale is 50% of "Non-Sale" price...

99 ÷ 2 = 49 (rounded down from 49.5)
or
99 x 0.50 = 49 (rounded down from 49.5)

I apologize for the "bold" post, it was the only way to make the division symbol clear.

Even with the math, this don't make much sense to me. How can you tell us that the regular price for ABL's are 99 diamonds when we never seem them at 99 diamonds. They are not a IM item for 99 diamonds so the way I see it , you can say the regular price is whatever and we would not know the difference. If they were in the IM as a constant item at 99 dias, I could understand it, but they are not. For you guys to just tell us that they are on sale is silly. Again, I would prefer to say ABL's are available for this happy hour at a price of 49 dias.

If I go to the store and I buy an item normally for $1.00 and the next time I go I see it for .50, then I know this is on sale for 50% off. I know because I normally buy it for 50% more. SO if I could possibly NORMALLY buy ABL's for 99 dias , then yes I would consider them on sale during this happy hour. However, since I can never get them REGULARLY, to me they are just available at whatever set price you want to put on them. :miffy:

Pyper, we used to have ABL's normally in IS for 99 dias until our IS got remapped to the Euro IS.

So yes, 49 dias is 50% off. :)

Jist of the thread. It isn't ON sale, it's FOR sale. And in case you couldn't tell, people would like it to be for sale on a permanent basis AND have an occasional sale on them.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

we used to have ABL's normally in IS

This is the part of your post that we are trying to point out. USED TO. Not currently. So, how do we know that is STILL the regular price? If they were to put them back into the IS for 99 dias all the time, then yes, I would agree that the sale was indeed 50% off. However, currently, it was a 29% off sale. As I said, I bought 20 of them to sit on for awhile, simply because they are not normally available. If they were available all the time, I wouldn't be forced to be wasting an IS bag slot right now with them, and could buy them as I need them. But now, the next time they are available, I will probably end up buying exactly zero. In the end, this hurts the in game economy because rather than having the ability to give newer players, or undergeared players, something nice any time it comes up, the "elite" squads can go in and get the items they can get, and with no way to pass anything on to anyone else, they just puri the stats and sell them, creating a vacuum from them to the next tier of players who are not able to actually run that instance.

TL;DR - If ABL's were available all the time, it would go a long way to fixing the in game economy, and there would end up being a LOT more people running the newer instances.
