It all depends on how long you plan to play this game, or how long of a life you believe this game has left. The sale of bp3 at christmas wasn't worth 800+ diams because that was 3.5 years worth of renting it, and I just don't believe that something will not happen within that timeframe (either the game just dies or something else comes along). 400 diams is just over a year of rental for bp4, so I will probably buy it because after a year, it has paid for itself.

At 399 diamonds, it's pretty easy to work out that since that's a 50% price, the original price is likely to be 799. Even I have the mathematical knowledge to work that one out. ;)

I think what he is saying is we have no frame of reference to prove that is actually 50% of the original price, because no one has proof of the original price.

The first time it was sold? If it is 50% less diamonds compared to the original price, prove to the players that the first time it was ever sold was 798 dias.

50% less diamonds compared to the normal sale price? What normal sale price? We haven't seen these on sale for a long time, perhaps even never (on their own).

The following pertains more to general sale pricing then anything else:

If there are items that are only ever available on special sales (random attribute extractors for example) and they are ALWAYS offered with the same price of X dias, how can you advertise that the item is 50% (or 20 or 30 or w/e %) off? As far as players are concerned, random attribute extractors ARE 39 dias, that is the NORMAL/REGULAR price, since they have not been offered at any other price in at least 1 year. Stop making false advertisements. When you advertise +120% diamond sale, players can go to diamond web page and say "hey normally i get X diamonds, but during sale I will receive 2.2x diamonds, which is indeed +120%". In regards to sale prices we have no frames of reference since certain items, like the permanent backpack slots, aren't regularly on sale and cannot be compared in a similar manner.

Right! but we've never had them at 800. It's not fifty percent off it just happens to be offered right now. If it's never sold at a regular price it's not on sale, it's just able to be bought.

The claim is, that somewhere some guy has a list of items at the "real" prices. and offers us items at a discount even if we have never seen them for sale at the real price. Judging by the lack of organization on other things I fail to find this true but whatever. Rom current operates under the financial philosophy of: If we sell certain items only during special times people will flock to buy them at those times spiking our revenue. Instead of the, if we sell certain items all the time at a higher rate we will have slower but steady income.

Yes because it's false advertising. Just stop calling it a discount and just make the forum post say "Hey, we're selling this item for a few hours today. Go get it."

Then again it'd also be nice if you stopped calling random things nobody cares about "Most Wanted", but that's a whole other issue.

This is actually a great idea and it should be forwarded. Why say it's half off when, in rom-sense, it's a new item or something. Just say this. It is actually more catchy. Say it's a rare item or something. But do not say it's half off.

Should be forwarded and used, IMHO.

I thought they did sell these items by themselves. Or they were gifted with something else. Three years seems so long ago. Either way, they were never 399 Dias, and for that reason, I personally think this was a fail "50%" sale.
