Recent Diamond Sales--A Study in Wretched Customer Service

I doubt that it's just me who sees the company's two consecutive diamond sales as an undisguised screwing of the RoM customer base. People hurry to buy diamonds at a 100% sale, which is followed by a 120% sale. The majority of people who were going to buy diamonds bought at the worst of the two sales.

I just don't understand why you would do this to your customers. Give them your best deal and make it a 2-day sale. You'll have happy diamond buyers instead of disappointed ones. I don't get it.

It can be frustrating but remember there was a time of 50% dia sales and 75% dia sales and we were all clamoring for a 100%. The random sale on Monday breaks Gameforge tradition however which makes me think there is a reason for it and we are not yet enlightened.

Take note: tomorrow is 140% too. So hold off yet again

OMG! There really is a 140% dia sale tomorrow. Guess I was not being trolled. I am currently taking bets on a 160% sale the day after.. Any taker?. 180% the day after that?

I bought (a modest amount) during the 100% sale and I'm okay with that. I don't feel any need to buy again for the 120% sale. Yes, the 120% sale is a better deal, but so was the 150% deal a while back that I wasn't here for. Any sale is a better deal over non-sale prices even though some sales are better than others.
If it's really a big deal which sale you purchase during, then make a rule to only buy during X% sale and stick to it. Eventually all the rates come around. If you're only concerned about item sales and how they line up with diamond sales, then you might be stuck taking what you can get.

I thought that was a load of crap the moment I saw it. If there really is a 140%.. wow. Just.. wow. Really GF? Lemme add that to yet another reason I don't buy dias.

VERY unimpressed with the way the easter diamond sales have been done

i cant belive the way the diamond sales have been done over the last few days.... i mean seriously? do you want all of your paying customers annoyed?

Diamonds for sale 100% bonus then 1 day later 120% bonus and a further day later 140%.... how do you really think it makes any of the people feel that bought at 100% or 120%?
ripped off.... and quite rightly so... this is the only game i have ever come across that would do this to their paying customers....

Personally i spent a decent amount of money on the 100% and then more at the 120% BUT and i can promise this... after the way this has been done... i will not spend another cent in the game!!!

Gameforge... i challenge you... check my diamond activity... you lost one very good customer :missilelauncher:

So, you're the kind of person who fulls your gas tank on a day and if the price drops 10 cents per gallon the next day, you will complain ??? I bet they don't need a customer like you. In fact, the whole economy doesn't. No one is forcing you to buy diamonds at 100% when you know there are 120% and better sales... You obviously have no clue how businesses works

If I had to guess, end of April means something financially to Gameforge. Looks to me like ramping up cash flow by increasing sales every day. I have held out so far waiting for the final price but I don't think I would be all that upset if i bought and they dropped tomorrow.

The trade off is the sales. If I waited to buy diamonds today, i missed out on having those diamonds during the easter sale so far.

I remember a few times w/ "good old" Froggie America where we had the Jackpot diamond sales... There was a LOT of disgruntlement there... one minute, it would be 130% ... the next 70%... then 500%... without notification

I see that GF is actually posting a day in advance to let us know what the new sale is going to be & you buy when you feel it's time to buy.. or not.

I've had fun this Easter weekend with the random "Easter Egg" sale stuff. :)

now we can all complain about the ABL and extractor "sale" being total more than we "normally" get them for if we bought them individually :P

Yeah. Or we can complain they are less. The important part is not what you are complaining about, is that you maintain constant whine.

I do not understand why they would do that either. I bought diamonds at 100% and when I saw the 120% the next day I was very upset as well. If I had known that the diamond sales were going to be escalating like this I would have waited, of course I would, everyone would.

Can a GM or someone please explain why they would do this?? The only thing it accomplished was to make people angry and in my opinion rightfully so!

I buy diamonds every month faithfully and this sort of thing is a big turn off. Others can say, and I wont mention names, that we are just whining and maybe we are but for very good reason. I consider myself to be a good customer and to see this crap is like a slap in the face.

Sorry but that is how I feel!

It's a magnified version of "Buyer's Remorse." When you buy something, you expect that you got the best deal and then something else comes along making you feel like you should have had better.

In the long run, you got 100% more diamonds than you normally would have, Pyper... and you are enjoying using those diamonds to buy stuff from the Item Shoppe.

Now, you see that the diamond bonus went up to 120.. then 140% and you get upset thinking, "I should have waited."

On the flip side, what if there hadn't been the increase from 100->120->140 & instead, it dropped to 50% then 25%? Would we be saying stuff like, "Suckas! Should have bought @ 100%!!!"?

I take this deal for what it is.. it's a bonus deal. & if the bonus goes up high enough to make me want to buy more dias, I will; otherwise, I'll happily play w/ what I got from this weekend.

Yes it is buyers remorse, but buyers are what keep this game alive. F2P players dont care if it is a 200% dia sale they aint buying period, so like all business practices one of your goals should be to keep your paying customers happy. I will think long and hard before buying next time and only buy if I absolutely need something, if I miss out on the 100% sale because I waited to see if there would be a better sale, then not only did I miss out but GF did as well.

I just think it was a slap in the face to do it this way, have a diamond sale and have it for the weekend and everyone is happy.

Just want to add that I am not the sort of person to ridicule someone if I happen to get a better deal then them. If they did the sale in reverse like you are saying in your post , go from 100% down to 50% etc... then I would think the exact same. All is accomplishes is making customers upset.

There were two very similar threads here relating to diamond sales so I went ahead and merged the two.

Thanks. :)
