Maybe I'm just more accepting of business practices, but to me it's no different from buying a tv, buying jeans, buying groceries... You make your choices based on what's best at the time.

I mean... are you going to be miffed because you bought a dozen eggs on sale for $1.79, when they're normally $1.99, & then you see that the new ad has them for $1.68? probably not. I accept that prices go up and down... sometimes you're the jackpot winner & other times you're not.

We got a bonus this weekend, guys... whether it be 100% more or 140% more, it's still more than normal.

I wouldn't buy any at 140% today, because based on the trend they should be 160% tomorrow...so save your money!

At this point yesterday Australia had 140% banner up on website. Nothing today so I believe it is safe to say no 160% tomorrow.

Kudos to you for being so accepting of this sort of flash sale. I don't know of any business that does this sort of thing, not a grocery store for sure. THey put out flyers and you know the sale up front and you buy at the sale price. I did not see anywhere that ROM would be having escalating Dia sales or I would of waited.

I don't think that you can compare this game to any other business really. I mean if I need eggs then I go to the store and I get eggs, if I need an ABL in Rom, sometimes I have to wait 3 weeks or a month to get it. Your not comparing apples to apples I don't think.

Anyhow, its fine, I have my diamonds regardless. I spent my $100 and I will make the most of what I got. I just think it was very deceiving of ROM to not let us know that the Dia prices would be escalaing to a better deal each day.

I respect your opinion it just differs from mine. I am still miffed that today it's 140% . Very bad treatment of their regular customers that buy each and every month.

the difference being at most regular stores you can return the item then just buy it again for the cheaper price(ofc not with food and gas, but other items).

Food for thought, If they had said we will have an escalating sale would anyone buy Day 1 or 2? Doubtful. If you going to do an escalating sale, you don't say anything for it to work. I always buy my diamonds at the last minute so I lucked out this time. But i was not able to enjoy all the weekend items the people who bought at 100% were able to buy. So its still a trade off

Some people may still have bought for the very reason your saying. They would want to purchse some of the items that were in limited quantities. At least they would of had the choice to buy at 100% dias or sacrifice the IS sale and wait for more dias. For me, the way it was done we had no choice really because we did not know about the better dia sales coming.

Im happy for you that you lucked out, I will do that in future myself, to wait wait wait ........

This is my exact thinking.

I was gonna say for argument sake to ycavan's statement was that most businesses you can either return and repurchase or they have price protection guarantees for price drops

So while I think ycavan's argument is a little unfair of a comparison, I understand where he's coming from.

I'm not at all upset by this though because I too always wait til the last minute before buying diamonds. It always pays to check AU site before buying

So by someones logic, if i am someone who sales stats. I tend to always have stats and i tell to a group of people always at 20m.

You have been buying from me for years, and i sell to you always. You just got some stats form me, and now its 5 pm and i feel good i had planed that when it hits 5 today i will sale for half off but will not tell anyone. your friend wants to buy some stats too. I never sold to this person before but i feel good so i am going to sell him the stats for 10m each now.

You can buy some more stats from me for 10 too if you like, but them stats you got an hr ago from me for 20m, oh well for you. It is how sales work, you lucked out. Move on okay? maybe you will get lucky next time. thanks for your business..

Idk about you.. but if someone did something like that to me i would not want to buy anything from them anymore.

I find that not only is the sales team in complete incompetency, they can't even do math.

108 total dias.

Sales logic......

Make it cost 169 dias, and make fake 'sales' on these 'valuable' items.

You are a disgusting company right now, and if your goal is to make the entire community angry with you, from bad sales, to horrendous diamond sales back to back; this is a spectacle to witness.

I can't believe they can't get anything right here.......... But then again, its not like anyone who will read this will do ANYTHING for our community.

Most businesses in real life do this. They sell an item, if it doesn't sell, they put a discount on it. If it still doesn't sell, they discount it more until it sells eventually. Every large store I go to does this. I bough something at costco when it went on discount for $12 less, and a week later, it was discounted by another $10. 2 weeks later, there was still a mountainpile of them, and it got discounted by another $20.

The only difference is that in stores, you get like a week where you can get a refund on the price difference, but even then, you'd have to go to the store pretty often to recognize it, and they often give a larger discount after a longer period of time than the original discount so that you don't get your refund on price difference if you bought it early.

Indeed. Monsieur Cike is not blissfully ignorant. I bet you could even calculate the normal price from the previous "50% off normal price" sales.

It is not a great deal, no, once the intro price 200-count run out. Even then, it was slight discount over the usual discount.

Well all i see is people whining still about a sale, well, you don't like it don't buy it. As Jada pointed out F2P don't buy diamonds so why would they care?? P2P will buy what they need with real money encouraging the server to stay up. Some others want to return stuff cause they got a better price in another store? really? GERMAN publisher, not american, so the rules do not apply. Gameforge can put up whatever prices they want and you can't do a thing about it. Quit the whining about sales and try to level toons people and get to play the game.

People QQ'uing about items prices, well ya regular SALE price is 69 for ABL's and 39 for RAE's, guess what? the sale they put up was still a sale, since it wasn't full price, not the price we are used too but still a sale, so stop the crying and whining, god some people are becoming truly pathetic crying about the same thing over and over again. Get a job, buy your own diamonds or find a game like Tetris that is F2P.

Me tisn't sure how f2p measure inter the discussion o Gameforge's diamond sales, Zid. Plz done taker yer obviously biased an nonsensical opinions elsewhere.

As fer the recent sales, Me tis on the fence bout em. Buyin diamonds one day, only ter finder out they twill be cheaper the next day kinda rubs me abit. However, there tisn't anythin that done said me had ter buyer em in the first place. Sadly, the Item Shop, an now the diamond recharge option seemer ta be as random as ingame items be. Meanin, not only doth me hast ter player the game, but now me hast ter player the item shop AND the diamond recharge. As if this game no took enough time by itself. Me no cometh here ter haver ta do the math every timer there be a sale. 50% off an item ter me meaneth that the item be the same price it twas last time it twas 50% off. Sadly, this tisn't the case anymore, so now buyer beware. Diamond sales now no longer be fer special timers or events, but almost random, so now buyer beware.
All this cannot be good fer Gameforge's bottom line at all. I dunnoes who be in charge o their sales department, but whoever it be, yer frustratin yer clients, and one o the first things ANY economist knows is that tis easier ter get monies from a current client than tis ter create new clients. Yer Item Shop manager no seemeth ter realize this, an now, yer diamond recharge person doth seemer ta be cut from the same cloth. Frustratin yer clients tis never a good thing, Gameforge. Cheers.

so no surprise on the sales part. It is probably the end of their fiscal year and trying to squeeze the most out of the community to show an increase on sales to make it look good in the books. So nothing we can cry about will change anything on the sales part. GM's, FM's and CM's are doing an awesome job, they just gotta kick the sales person out for coming up with these, we have no say in this matter as that person really doesn't play the game and couldn't care less. They should put a player with integrity responsable of the sales and then an increase of revenue would happen, till then, nothing will change.

I've said it before, cut the prices of the IS by 50% and more people would buy stuff, but noooo he'S Disturbed and lives under a bridge.
