Population Cap among servers

Put a cap on how many active players can be in a particular server for a temporary period(s). People usually flock to the highest populated servers, leaving the rest in the dust, especially the "pvp" servers. A cap, in my opinion, I think would deflect people to join the other servers, thus, re-routing some new players or perhaps old players as well to come join us. It ain't no fun having only less than 100 active players in a server. :/ :grumble:

Yeah.. Imma -1 this suggestion...

Basically, Game companies want to bring in as many players as possible; not restrict them.

If a server is full-ish, that means more players are having fun there? vs. a server that isn't so full, that is.

Well i remember when i started playing, went to a PvP server, started questing and gathering and stuff. Then came along level 50 toons with shinny gear, being a noob at that time, level 26 or something, i was impressed by their gear. Then i tried talking to them, ask directions and help, then, BOOM ganked by 3 high level toons, i asked what happened, then they started making rude comments in say chat. So i rezzed and went along my way, BOOM one comes out of hide and kills me again for no reason, so ya, i said enough and went to PvE, where at least i could quest and not be surrounded by bullies.

I would never want to play on a PvP server, there is just no point for me.

is it fair if i suggest that any servers can be PVP and PVE by switching channel ? channel 1, channel 2, channel 3 , channel PVP

channel 1.2.3. for people who just want to quests, no OD .

channel pvp, quests and mobs give extra 20 % exp tp gold , OD stuff, no trash stat ( i say YES , DEX.STR./ma.mdef. and such ARE trash stat)
killing a player gives exp and gold, dying wont damage gear.
for people who want to quest and, why not, kill others in the area. and why not set a rule that doesnt allow being outnumbered,
ex : a party of two, wont be able to attack a single player , must be two guys not in same party who happens to kill the same one .
AOE damage will be awesome :) , so every attack will aoe :) a scout and a rogue kills a poor mage? while rogue is stabing the mage, the scout any attacks on mage will also damage the rogue if he s close enough. i like this, no safe bullying :)

might be too easy to get good stat in dungeon runs (pvp channel), then, let s say, no transport, portal rune, and mobs in dungeons have 30 % more attacks /defenses ( easy normal hard mode)

Some servers are stuck at only one channel throughout the entirety of their server. And most zones in servers only have 1 channel anyways.

How then does that fit into your suggestion for pve and pvp channels when there's no channels to switch to.

Said servers have been trying to get multiple channels back for months and it's not being fixed.

in any case. something gotta give. Either expand or die. If you're not gonna help increase population among low-population servers, then close the servers and give the people in the low-pop. servers with a 50/50/50 toon with enough tp to quest or something on other high servers of which they choose? SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Guess I'm going down with the boat, that is Indigo until its underwater. :(

This is a pretty terrible and self centered suggestion that would just help kill the servers that are populated and doing well. Some of the servers are having a rough time, but there are better ways to increase server population.

so, u disagree that one day, all servers have a pvp and pve channel ? and want taht servers have multiple channels unfixed ?


or are u asking how technically is possible to have both pve and pvp channels while in some servers there arent even 2 channels and/or having channels issue ? if this is the question, i have no choice but to answer taht, i dunno how to fix the technical issues, just suggesting some solutions to have fun with pve and pvp together.

and btw, yea, why having so many servers while some are empty? business issues? else, just merge all into 3-4, transfer toons and stuff, and make all servers pve-pvp channeled :) at least 1 pve 1 pvp . If this is technically possible of couse, am just dreaming, no offense

or u meant the transfer of toons from one to another server? they keep their own stuff, bind on them

He means that in a PVP server (or chan, under your suggestion) people can gank each other and steal gear. People would obviously use this to trasfer gear and then recieve gold for it. For example, i have an OD item you want. SO i let you kill me, you loot my body and take the item, and pay me for it.

In any case, I quit RoM because of low population on Indigo. It is so pathetic, I didn't even want to bother leveling it up. It's a downhill slope for low populated server. If anything was supposed to get better, it would've in the past 5 years, and yet, its still declining. Get your shit together ROM!

Grimdal is Grim as well as far as populace goes. at this point most of us left would not mine if we ended up on pve server, just LET US PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!
What happens is when diamonds are on sale, I wont buy anymore..why bother? theres no gear to be had, as we are not big enough to HM most of the dungeons now.. seems like suddenly everyone went to neverwinter or elder scrolls.. Our AH is mostly empty anymore.. barely pots or foods and only if my guild puts it in lol.
Im sad.. I have stuck it out for 5 years in ROM. I never thought I would be discouraged enough to want to change to a new game.
Comeon Gameforge.. step up ur game!!
Save us.. on Grim and indigo... send us somewhere or merge us .. please please do something

I wonder how a PvP server merge would go over, if everyone would start killing each other again or if everyone would be comfy cozy... ^.^ Either way, it would only benefit everyone on these 2 servers, Grimdal more so at the moment I think, however I haven't visited in far too long to know :o But yes lets see a merge, that way a population cap wouldn't even be needed, though I really couldn't see that being implemented anyways... lol
