Mento Pom vender

I think the GM's should add a vender in Veranis Central that exchanges POMs for Mentos. Something like 1000 Mentos for 1 POM once per day per account. This would give everyone a reason to run more instances, and we are all looking forward to new POM gear with the new content.

Currently, I have 37xPoM in a house chest and if I set myself up with 37 accounts, I'd instantly have 37000 Mementos. They're not all on the same account, but suddenly I'm able to pull a lot of items giving me a much higher chance of nice stats and over-dura gear. That's not good.

I'd recommend something more like 50-80 Memento's per PoM.

Getting PoM's with mentos make sense, since mento gear is pretty much worthless nowadays. But trading PoM's into mentos? I don't think that trade will be used very much.

The OP was talking about a trade for the other way around. Also it's not even possible to get good stats from mem pulls anymore so that option is out. And in the case of trading in 1k mems to obtain 1 PoM, I like the idea, also to be limited to 1 per account/per day, however I personally think the amount of mems for the exchange would need to be a little greater then.

NO NO NO AND NO! and definetly not for 50-80 mementos... Which is just pure stupid. That's like 10 mins per day and if I did on every account suddenly I'm proof rich. Just keep proofs as it is now. World bosses and rare events.

If this would ever be implemented it should be for about 1 pom for every max of mems and you get 5 and can only use it once every like 2 weeks so a month you can get 10poms

Since mento's are so useless now this isn't a bad idea. It's also a prohibitively high amount at 1K that it may be discouraging to run 8 thousand alts through mem farms every day. PoM's are stupid in general, so an easier way to get them isn't a huge deal. Only becomes a problem when it's super exploitable like the last pom event, but I don't know this really would be.

Agreed Borella, I think 1.5k is a fair number due to the fact even that is over an hour of mem farming for anybody, and ofc limiting it to once a day per account. Gives others a chance to earn proofs for themselves, if they can not participate in world boss kills. And you still make more proofs/hour killing world bosses, so the people working hard to do those kills still get the rewards they deserve.

Proof of Myth are the rewards that you get for killing World Bosses!! If they made them accessible by using Mems then what is the incentive to kill World Bosses?? I don't get it, everyone wants POM but very few want to go through the trouble to learn the strats to kill world bosses. Its a reward for playing part of the game and I think it should be left at that.

My only beef is that not enough POM's drop from the world bosses to distribute to everyone in the party. They should have more than 5, since the respawn is every 72 hours. I love doing World Bosses and would love to go out there and do more of them except is is extremely difficult to get people willing to die to learn the strats. This is very dissappointing and another indication of how lazy and spoiled people are. They all want proofs but just don't want to do their part to get them. Then they come on the forums and cry.

Sorry people but this is honestly how I feel on this topic... :whistling:

Wrong. A very small minority (that don't really care) don't want to "learn the strategies and make the effort". The other 80-90% of the server CAN'T kill world bosses. Either they're simply not powerful enough and can't assemble a party full of non-selfish people or worse, one of the higher end players comes by and solo's the thing and keeps the PoM's for him/herself without trying to party up with anyone or let anyone know about the kill (so that, for example, people can't get their level 60 elites, therefore increasing the gap between people that are "Able to kill world bosses" and "not able to kill world bosses").

The other 10-20% can kill the world bosses and most of the time from what I see they kill the world boss either alone or in a small knit group of people (usually their own guild) without trying to party up with anyone else from other guilds, therefore leaving everyone out. Thus, the cycle repeats.

I think this is a very awesome idea. 1k or 1.5k mem for 1 PoM once per day per account is not a whole lot and would mean you would have to farm out mem bearing instance(s) 5+ days straight to get enough mems to exchange for enough PoMs to buy ONE stat/gear. That doesn't unbalance anything at all. Typically a good geared high DPS character can farm out DoD norm for 25 mems every...10-15 minutes solo? That's approximately 6-10 hours per day JUST consumed by mem farming to get enough mems for ONE PoM. Even more time if you suck or if you're in a party. A full RT Normal run partied would take....30 minutes? That's 7-12 hours of farming to get enough mems. It's an excellent idea.

World bosses take a minute to kill, 1.5k+ mems takes hours to farm. That was the incentive I believe to still kill world bosses

It's not that some are to lazy to learn my guild has tried many times to get hackman down sometime we succeed and the rest a certain unnamed guild gets in the way in reality id say a alternate way to make Proofs would be a good idea but still make it hard cuz a hard mode run done all the way through and done often boosts mems drastically which would unbalance things worse something hard to do but still doable.

I would say something like the eoj's be done if this was implemented proofs for mems is a bad idea now that i think about it.

I have read all the comments posted on the thread so far. Some of you are clearly OP beasts who can whack these world bosses solo or in small groups. The vast majority of us are not and can only get PoM's when some special event like the recent IDK thing happens. Those happen far too rarely, and do add a few orange stats, but not many, even when exploited. This is another situation where casual players [I like that term, just picked it up off a different thread and it adequately describes me and a significant number of my friends] cannot really take advantage of PoM gear and stats because a) we don't have the ability to kill these bosses in hard mode, and b) the OP players usually show up as fast as they respawn anyway. This forces us to figure out how to earn tons of game gold so we can get them from the AH at prices that are inflated by our inability to get them on our own.

I can't farm 1k mems per hour. For me it is more like 120- 130, although that will change with the new level cap. I would still be willing to farm them at the pace I can, and trade them for PoM gear. Sounds like an actually great idea. It would help folks advance their toons and possibly bring a little bit more sanity (tho not much I am sure) to Auction House prices.

Hello fellow old indigonian! :) And yes I know exactly what you mean, which is why I also think this is a great idea, back when I would never be in a party of doing world bosses, I always wanted an alternative fair way to get PoM's for myself, and I think this idea could work pretty well.

I like the thought but disagree on the approach. While POMS should definitely be more attainable, making them part of a currency exchange isn't the answer IMO. I don't think this thread would have anywhere near the community buy-in if the suggestion were to put POMS in the item shop and sell them for diamonds - same concept.

My suggestion is that since POMs are usually obtained by a guild working together downing world bosses then an event could be added to guild quest boards, an npc, etc. that allows guilds to complete a series of quests or objectives together as a guild to obtain them. This way ALL guilds regardless of their size would have an opportunity to earn POMS.

Again, IMO, POM gear is too good to be something people can solo and should reward people working together towards a common goal. Who knows, if enough folks got used to the idea more folks might get off the sidelines and start running more content. Just a thought. :)

The thing about a guild working together to down a world boss is that every server has their OP guilds and depending on how nice they are, they down the boss right after it spawns or while a different party is about to down it. And if it's to down something hard enough for a guild to need to work together in the open world, then it would need a very short respawn time to accomodate for all the guilds downing it.

I think a PoM/Mem EVENT would be nice sometime. ie, Owenstein decides he has too many PoMs on hand & is very low on mementos. Exchange 1.5k mems for 1 PoM w/ a server limit on the # of PoMs per day.

What you say about all guilds not able to run some content is all to painfully true and one of the reasons I suggested a guild quests and/or objectives and not instance runs to achieve the PoMs.

I do disagree with your last sentence that it would be hard to exploit this by larger more powerful players/guilds. Compare for example GOH hm which rewards 450 mems for a single run vs say HoS which rewards 46 for a single run. Obviously this still favors the larger guilds who are able to clear more content.

Good discussion, I like that folks are really looking outside the box to come up with a viable solution here and not making this just another troll-bait/flame fest post :)
