But lets be honest, reason DIAS are removed from AH, as well GF got rid of DIAS NPC is not what has been told to players. We all know that by now, don't we?
Well, frankly, I _know_ nothing. I have my guesses, but GF is really tight-lipped about the reasons...
I'd just say this: in general for most problems there are no bullet-proof solutions, and when looking for solutions the aim is not really to make it not possible to abuse but to make it as difficult/impractical as possible to abuse. There is a balance needed: things should still be easy for "normal/real" players. Level limit: great. True that some old accounts could be hacked but they will get reported and it will limit how easy it is to do this or that. Phirius tokens: great. True that you can give a candy to a 5 years old for doing some silly dailies once a day, but still - for most cases it will be an obstacle making it not worth the effort. Whether it's about a right to use Cedrik or a right to trade dias on AH - if it's about limiting abuse by alts or not-real-players (goldsellers) you could go for some
combination of the conditions (before you qualify : you have to be level 50+ AND you have to finish at least 1 daily today AND you have to finish at least one title quest today AND you have to finish at least one mingame today AND you have to kill at least one boss (be it FA) today AND the account has to exist for at least 2 months AND you must have been logged in on at least 5 different days during last two weeks AND ...whatever... - cool, would not block abusing in 100% but even for ppl wanting to use Cedrik on multiple accounts it would be a strongly limiting set of requirements).
But IF the only problem that lead GF to removing dias from AH was duping dias in the mailbox - they would need to either fix this or have a different way of delivering diamonds bought on AH. All considerations about megas, goldsellers etc. would be irrelevant. (But who knows - GF says nothing about the reasons there is no dia trade...)
@OP: yeah, sure - IF the problem with AH was that reselling dias was a predictable source of gold for goldsellers, then binding second-hand dias would be a solution indeed. But IF the problem was that goldsellers got gold in a different way (boting KS or whatever) and dias on AH was just a way to buy megas - no need to bind dias from AH. Imho, as long as GF does not say what
they perceive as the main problem with dias on AH it's really just another thread suggesting a solution for an unknown problem.
PS: Some comments just blow my mind away:
We still have a very large excess of gold in the server economies due to gold seller AH manipulation (as well as direct sales) earlier in the year and many players acquired quite a bit of gold.
I was literally numb for 5 minutes after reading this. WHUT??? But this sort of misunderstandings may be sources for some QQing that lead to removal of dias from AH (some people imagined AH as the _source_ of inflation...). Well, whatever, no point in discussing this kind of statements, but if I may say this: Tuulikki, ofc you cannot spend 2 hours editing one post but you might want to read it before posting so that some points did not come across as plain "not well thought-out"...
