Jewels

You know what really grinds my gears? People that are new to the game getting lvl 50-60 gear trying to progress and they are sadly forced to buy expensive lvl 90 jewels for such weak gear. Why can't we have lower lvl jewels with cheaper prices in a more categorized section of the item shop based on gear lvl, rather than just replacing, it almost makes older jewels seem pointless of ever existing in the first place if you won't even see them again. Yet we see the same older gear being obtained even to this day for people starting the game. I don't know just something I thought, maybe some opinion about it or whatever , but to me it just seems like a waste of real life money using something expensive for something weak we're talking 30-40 lvl difference and ironically the diamond prices on jewels as they get upgraded they become higher in price, I don't think its fair.

agreed, i was thinking about this awhile ago. if you want to plus lower lvl gear, you are essentially forced to buy from established players trying to get rid of old jewels(good luck finding these), or you are stuck paying full price for the current ones...

You know what grinds my gears? The fact that jewels are a necessity nowadays as opposed to what they used to be back when cap was lvl 50. Not a necessity, but a convenience.

You know what really grinds my gears? That new jewels get progressively more expensive every time the level cap is increased and a new jewel has to be brought out. It should adjust.

The plussing fail rates are the worst of the worst in ROM.

yes the fail rates have done nothing but gotten worse over the years. I have been here since open beta and have seen the increasing price and fail rated. I think the price of these Jewels should have stayed the same, instead of increasing prices every 10 levels. The prices has increased tremendously on plussing your gear.

Originally we were up to +6 then +12 max. This increase came at 2 to 3 times the price, but everyone had to do this, as game content (instances) were being based on clearing with these stats and increases. Then came the +16 which again increased which again these increases came at another 2 to 3 times the price.... Again this became the new norm in equipment and is how instances created were based on to clear.

I don't think these prices will never be fixed as we keep paying them. But it is getting farther apart for most of us to re-gear as the prices are so high.

If these were lowered I think we would see more people re-gear as they get newer stats and gear.

I have come to the point that gearing most of our alts is done by phirius tokens for plussing. That means they only get to +12 and for alts that is fine. New gear I will keep trying to do more, just because. I also because of this have stopped selling old gear. Now I just pass it down. Ill clean it and restat it before I would sell it and do a new piece for an alt. Pretty bad when the cost of plussing for alts outweighs the costs of T6ing a piece of gear after cleaning it.

Of course I haven't made gear in the last 2 months because I am waiting for level cap for new bag stats for my Dwarf M/wl, and waiting for new shell stats for our main. No sense doing a piece of gear now, when in a month I can probably do one tier higher for the same price with better stats. Ill just save my money and wait.

Edit to add: This has been said 100s of times, but if jewels did not lower the Plussing, the system would be a lot better. Other reductions in price, improvements whatever can come after. I think if they just didn't drop level.... effectively cost would be way more fair.

Yea but I think if they did not drop level then the failure rate would be highly increased to compensate.

But if they did take out the chance to drop level it would at least be what I consider a step in the right direction.

I have no doubt that plus 20 will become the norm over the next year if NA RoM stays alive.

I would far prefer they just raise the cost of jewels and make them all perfect, at least the ones we pay for with real money. The fail rates to me are tantamount to stealing because they never disclose exactly how bad the percentages are. If only we could all say, "enough of this effing BS!" and refuse to buy diamonds unless they change this lol then things might actually improve.

I think it is pretty bad that with gems, if it seems like I am failing a lot, I log off and wait. The next day ill try again. It has always seemed to me that sometimes is seems like you are blessed on plussing, other days... you couldn't get it to hit +5 to save your life. I will also admit, the plussing system has stopped me from upgrading pieces of my gear. Spending a boat load of money to improve what I have by 5%, just isn't going to make it IMO. This is why I may be at 120k ma.attk base (and been sitting there for like 8 months) and that may be considered really low, but I wont make new gear until I see that I will get a substantial increase. This is why I am using gear that some would consider outdated.
