daily annoyances that waste time

Please fix these things someday. They just waste our time and add absolutely nothing to the enjoyment of the game.

1. housemaid buffs/items - what is the effing point of making these items random? I can't comprehend why anyone would've ever come up with this idea, except maybe if they once considered selling diamonds housemaids that gave exactly what you wanted. Once the maids are raised to a certain level, why not let us pick what we need? We will still buy multiple housemaids because we need a lot of different things. This just makes no sense!

2. Varanas housemaid and mail location - why do you put the housemaid in a separate zone from the mailbox other than to just annoy us again? I'm only complaining about Varanas because that's where I spend most of my time lately. Obsidian stronghold is even worse. Just destroy the bank and move the housemaid there. Better yet, move the housemaid, mailbox, auction house and guild castle on the bridge outside. Housemaid and mailbox should always be together and always part of the main map, not in another zone we have to portal to. All this constant zoning just adds to the instability of the game as well as time wasted having to go back and forth.

3. instant pet summoning, mounting, and mount pots - why can't we just instanly summon a pet or mount a horse and why can't we use mount pots while mounted instead of getting dismounted and having to remount? We can summon pets while mounted, so why not let us drink a pot.

4. Malatina's course of terror - get rid of that useless intro scene before the door opens and just open the door immediately after we pay our tokens so we can save 20 seconds every day.

5. Instances transport crystals - these should be in all the instances. Why are they in some but not others? Did some programmer just forget to put them in or is it another attempt by ROM to just annoy its players.

I don't think that anyone is trying to annoy on purpose.

Maybe the location of the House Maid, Bank and auction house in Varanas is a well ordered (medieval) city, like the Central Plaza is a place to trade, so auction house, mail and bank totally make sense there ... and Undercity Ost/West are the locations for handcraft and living, so house maid and guild castle also make sense there. Did you think of that? Btw: You can enter the guild castle to send mail, it's next to the house maid in Varanas.

If you really need the house maid and the auction house close together go to Reifort, you even have a transport to go there. The only thing that is not in Reifort is a guild castle, but i think you don't really need it that often.

I don't wanna go into detail on your other points.

To sum it up: Those things may annoy some people, but apart from the instance transports those are such minor things, they don't need to be changed, that would be a waste of time ... but i agree on the instance transports.

Yea I only agree with #5. This is because as the OP mentioned, they started to do it, then just suddenly stopped... Would be great to have back with all the crashes people can experience in hardmode, or party wipes. A nice start would be that when someone crashes in a instances with a full party they can log back in INSIDE the instance. I've never understood why the game punishes people in some ways for crashing. Siege war death debuffs for example; if you get a light injury and crash, upon re-entry to get the next stage of the debuff... for crashing...

How about some more guild castle managers in newer zones?

The snoop network could use a little work as well (and yea, it has improved over time, but it still needs work). Why can we get out to TB in one hop from dalanis, but we cannot get back? At least complete the loop rather than making us take 5 jumps to get back. And to be perfectly clear, nobody ever wants to go through Dalanis for anything because it is by far the most crash prone, laggy area in the game. Please allow us to jump around it.

These are all minor, but they affect what few players we have left every single day that we play this game. At this stage in the game's life, these things which may have been done to make the game more "realistic" back in the day really do just waste people's time now.

I strongly agree that the developers need to either actually try and fix the crashing issues as you zone around, or make reasonable attempts to minimize the amount of zoning we need to do to get regular tasks done. Doing the daily crystal digging title quest out in TB or redhill is a guaranteed crash every single day.

I have been tracking crashes in this game on and off for years, and nearly all of them involve out of memory conditions (when the system has ample available memory) in redux_runtime.dll, which has not been modified since 2010. It looks to me like it is a 3D texture memory leak. This tells me pretty strongly that nobody is working on this issue.... fine... so please help compensate with things you might be able to change.

My point about Varanas is that there are plenty of other cities or base areas that don't require zoning back and forth between functions we use multiple times every day and that's the way they should all be. Also, it's not very difficult to put a mailbox into the map. Merdhin Tundra had no mailbox but then they put one in. Another place like Aslan has the house far away from the city so they have two mailboxes. As far as going into the guild castle to send mail, it's basically the same thing as having to zone into central plaza.

Another inconvenience is the nonexistence of vendors outside some instances. Grotto of Horrors has a merchant right outside the door, why can't there be one outside Pillars of Morfan as well, or at least next to the revival spot. This would save time and not detract from the game in any way.

I'm not complaining about there not being a Snoop every 1000 feet because I understand it's in ROM's interest to sell transport runes. I'm also not complaining about not getting a 120 OD item every time we step into an instance or pull mentos. I'm just talking about little details that would make the overall game experience smoother and save time because all these seconds and minutes add up and many people don't have a lot of time to play a game.

You aren't "required" to port to the different parts of varanas. It only makes it faster (sometimes).

Well all zones should have a guild person, house maid, AH and pet person. I know they want us to spend on transport stuff, but come on this should have been done long ago.

Another thing, do not ask Runewaker to fix too much at once, we all know where that will lead hahaha

How about the fact that when an instance is full and someone crashes inside they get kicked out when they log in. That annoys me the most.

Instant mounting and using pots while mounted seems pretty OP in SW, but won't make much difference in PVE.

If no transport crystals in instance, let us use mounts in instance :)

Crashing at the oddest of times

This is really a waste of time and a major annoyance. As mentioned it ALWAYS happens in Dalanis. Just as big an annoyance is crashing in a mini. Unless you are in a party, you are booted out. I am playing other flash games which don't crash as often as ROM does. Please get this fixed sooner rather than later.

Well go check Gameforge Facebook page and look at all the promos, tours, ads, redeem code giveaway they have for all their other games. The answer is simple : Gameforge don't care about ROM anymore. I don't even think they even show ROM on their Facebook page anymore.

Of course if you ask them they will direct you to the ROM facebook page where the same people take care of that as the forums, so makes it pretty obvious.

Server merge = waste of time and money if this game is really dying to necessitate multiple server merges. Honestly, it is much better to leave the servers as is to avoid so many complications like house merges and guild merges etc.

No support for server merges at all.

Also, you really don't want increased competition for monster drops do you?

As for OP, Varanas isn't THAT big. Just do a bit more walking instead of being lazy. And as for your cutscene problem, in Malatina's course of terror, 20 seconds isn't that big of a deal. Get over it.

This ain't minecraft we don't have griefers here. As for the #5 point, it is very valid, many people crash in instances, regardless of what they are doing since there are many different things that can cause a crash, comp problems, internet goes out, or laggy boss.

Try entering an instance and you'll see >.>
