Why would they merge different accounts though?

I have an account on both Arty and Thalia, they can't merge the 2, that wouldn't make sense. Who knows what random people have registered by some luck the same account name, I'm sure they'll be happy to notice their accounts merged with someone elses lol

I have 8 on arty and also 8 on thalia, this needs to be clarified more please.

My expectation would be that accounts with the same email address get merged, and the account name on the host server is retained.

If this is the case, I wouldn't mind knowing what happens when a merged account has the same name as an existing account but a different email. Change the merged account name (e.g. "Oldster" to "Oldster_McThalianRefugee") and email the new name to the owner, at a guess?

Actually, you can't use the same email for different regions. You will get an error that your email is already associated with a RoM account.

Yeah I think mine have split, but I can't recall the email for my arty account but it will be one of my many kickin around heh.

I will be entirely annoyed if they do merge on email and I lose some lv 80 planters because it's "convenient"



How you can end up with too many chars on an account REALLY needs to be clarified so speculation on how can stop xD

And how does one prove that this account of yours on Reni is in fact yours and not some random guy/gal, what is the criteria for merging 2 accounts together. Why not just leave the accounts alone and just move them? Add a hash to the end or a special character or something if there are duplicate account names.

So if they merge on account name then I will have 16 characters on my account permanently or forced to delete 8? If I keep them all permanently and there is only an issue if I want to create a new character on the account that's fine by me.

I don't think merging duplicate account names is wise, it is possible that two different people around the world will have created the same account names. Hence more clarification on the specifics of account merging required.
