Purpose of Suggestions Sub-forum?

This is directed to the management folks of both the publishers and developers of this game:
What is the current purpose/direction of the threads for this suggestions sub-forum? Just to eventually be archived and thats it?

I've been here a long time where many good original ideas (and yes, some not so good ones) have been suggested. However, I can't remember the last time anything was actually implemented from here (outside of *maybe* some item shop changes) as a result of the feedback coming from the players in this particular sub-forum. Not to mention suggestions on game improvements are still being made within threads of other sub-forums as well (discussion sub-forum, shop discussions sub-forum, class specific sub-forum, etc.). Is it because there isn't really a good template that is being followed similar to the bug sub-forums?

Sure, some ideas can't be implemented in 1 week, but when months (and years) go by where not even an official response was made to the thread, its quite clear this particular general suggestion sub-forum is being ignored.

I guess I'm personally done (retired) responding to anymore current/future suggestions that get created here regardless of how good or bad they may be. I need to actually see the following to have more confidence that this sub-forum is actually being used not just by the players and GMs:
1) Suggested changes are documented in patch notes and actually implemented in game.
2) Official communication of where a particular suggestion stands by 'someone of management power' from the developing end. AKA, they respond to the thread and give <XYZ> response. No, I'm not referring to the GMs saying something along the lines of 'it has been forwarded.'

P.S. 1 Given the nature of this past behavior, I would actually be surprised if I get a response by 'someone of power'. Again, not the GMs. They do not have the power to make decisions as to what will and will not get changed as part of the next patch.

P.S. 2 This sort of lack of CSI (Continual Service Improvement) based on customer feedback contributes (but not the sole reason) to why some folks have moved on to other games and server merges are 'needed.' Not enough to personally make me go, but just informing you..

I actually was thinking about this just the other day. I was sitting there thinking...

"When... if EVER.... was a suggestion actually used in game"

I don't mean the whining of "nerf this" or "nerf that", but I mean something actually posted on the suggestion forum and it was actually used?

I think we would be hard pressed to find a single instance when they have taken ANYTHING off the suggestion page and implemented it, so I think it is something that only makes us feel better... for a time being. I think a lot have already realized that while mentally discussing stuff can be fun... I surely have come to the realization that my suggestions aren't valued by GF, and CERTAINLY not RW

OP did say "outside of *maybe* some item shop changes". Your whole list consists of Item Shop examples.

To be fair to them, they don't exactly decide what RW does, because it seems like RW doesn't really care much about whatever GF says lol.

Rofl, if that's the case then they have to have the worst publishing contract ever written. Since that's not really likely, it's probably just easier to do the finger pointing game since we don't have access to the specifics of their contract anyway. Anyone who actually believes that GF can only ask RW nicely to do things is a bit naive - contracts simply aren't worded that way.

Nothing can be said on this topic unless you make some presumptions. In this case, that was mine, because I can't think of any reason why they'd hire a guy to categorize bug fixes or did the ThePit's Hot Seat on DE if they don't plan on sending them. They always just done "forwarded to XY".

Also, it doesn't cost GF anything to tell RW to fix a bug, would it? Unless RW charges GF for each bug fix, whatever work they can get RW to do should be their gain because it shouldn't cost them much, if any.

You are right of course, we can only speculate because we aren't privy to the details of GF's contract with RW. To answer your question though, it would not be unheard of if GF was required to pay for any changes to the game including fixes. Most of the publisher/developer relationships work in a similar way. Developers for the most part want to put out the best possible product but someone has to pay for that work. The publisher holds the purse strings and determines what to change and what not to based on financial considerations.

Again, we don't know much about their contract and I doubt very highly we ever will. What we do know from the past few years is that not a whole lot more than the bare minimum to maintain this game has been done. Some changes have happened sure, but take for example one new instance every level cap and very linear gear upgrades with rehashed skins. That doesn't exactly scream innovation or heavy investment into the future of the gaming experience. Even the festivals are just rehashed from year to year.
