There are a Boatload of mounts available. If a player decides to spend the diamonds, he or she can get something different to ride. HOW COOL!!! But wait- what to do with that old mare I just retired. Sure, I can just collect a bunch of them, but that's not very practical. I could also delete them, but that involves real world cash down the flusher. How about a Mount Bind Lifter (I shall refer to it as "MBL")in the cash shop specifically for unbinding mounts. There is already a spot in the AH to sell them, but we can't use it for anything except maybe those occasional mount tickets.
I am not suggesting a bind lifter for 19 diamonds, but something less than the cost of a new mount. 80-90 diamonds maybe to unbind the mount and then you can send it to an alt, give it to a newbie guild member, or sell it either in the AH or world channel. GF gains the sale of more diamonds for the MBL, as well as the willingness of the fashion-counscious players to buy the cool new mount on sale this week.
These MBLs don't need to be permanent fixtures, but at least include them on sale whenever GF runs a mount sale. My main has two mounts I don't need, and I hesitate to add to my stable simply because it doesn't make sense. Replacing that old chestnut gelding with a strong young stallion, though, that sounds great. I just can't justify adding more mounts on a toon that already has 5.
