Death Penalty Change

One major flaw in this game as many have suggested is that the death penalty is not harsh enough. Never before have I heard a game that simply applies exp debt and removal of armour bonuses for dying. What I suggest are reasonable death mechanics implemented by other popular MMOs.

1) All items we equip or in inventory should be dropped on death and protected by a gravestone for one minute. We then have to do the same corpse walk back to the gravestone from the hub we respawn at. If the one minute timer is up all items disappear permanently. This isn't as harsh as players have a chance of reclaiming items with no penalty at all. Also, if they do fail, we have a much needed item sink. :D(Runescape death penalty)

OR:

2) Upon death, our armour degrade by a base of 50% (higher percentage degradation with higher levels). This can be minimised by doing a corpse walk back to the grave. Degradation can be repaired by spending golden hammers. Say one golden hammer can recover 1%. This is a great source of revenue for the company to advance further and introduces a much harsher death penalty to make the game more interesting. (World of warcraft does this with gold, silver and copper coins)

A lot of people would not agree with that idea Kijin Seija. if they do that then people would rage on it because they would lose their most prized gear that they work so dearly hard on.

Actually, some people complain that the death penalty is too harsh. This is why UD gear is, for the most part, considered worthless. Because it costs too much to keep buying golden repair hammers to keep them viable and attempting instances.

With losing your gear and bags if you don't make it back to your tombstone in time, that s entirely idiotic, imo. I say this because the game does lag, and sometimes you can't manage to make it back to your tombstone at all, and then you're sol.

NO NO NO NO 1000% NO

I am going to assume that you are brand new to this game and have no realization of how much time and resources are spent to make decent gears in ROM. Not to mention how expensive $$$ wise it can be to keep up with endgame gear.

Nobody would want to chance losing tons of money worth of gear . With the player base as slim as it is.... that would be a killing blow to this game.

IMO the debt penalty in ROM is kind of light and simple... you can avoid it with angel sigh or god redemption tickets are pretty cheap with dias and/or ptoken. If you are running around on a toon that you don't want to have debt and you know you have a high chance of dieing... just spend the 1.5m gold to buy a big angel sigh

Self-documenting troll, even. Not much history though, so I doubt Zidlef's crown is under any serious threat.

Best to just let this terrible thread die.

And when it dies, it should lose all its gear.

Actually, they should have characters die permanently and make you start over from scratch. OP's solutions is too lenient.
